SSO'2013
The International Workshop on Secure Smart Objects
co-located with IEEE iThings/CPSCom/GreenCom 2013
August 19-22, 2013
Beijing, China

SUBMISSION DEADLINE : April 28, 2013

-----------------------------------------------------------------

With the emergence of new information and communication technologies, smart
objects combined with communication infrastructures such as Internet and
mobile networks enable accessing to things anywhere anytime, and collecting
data secretly. To avoid emergence of a Big Brother world, stringent control
on the applications involving this kind of objects is highly required with
the need for objects to support security functions. The challenging issue
is that smart objects are extremely constrained in terms of energy,
computational power and memory, so support of strong security is made
arduous.
Smart cards, crypto-keys, mobile telephony, RFID and NFC, TPM or TEE are
examples of these devices where complex hardware and software are designed
to solve major constraints of security, safety, reliability, efficiency,
quality of service, and price. Many applications with high social and
business impact are part of IoT/SSO domain, including personal healthcare,
intelligent transportation, home automation, mobile payment, e-passport,
surveillance, etc. The most important challenges are:
i) the definition of architectures, protocols and algorithms to secure
smart objects and their connection to the information system on the
Internet/Cloud;
and ii) the creation of platforms and services that are open, secure, and
interoperable to interconnect things/smart objects.

The aim of this workshop is to bring together practitioners and researchers
from both academia and industry in order to have a forum for discussion
and technical presentations on the recent
advances in theory, application and implementation of the SSO concept:
technologies, protocols,algorithms, applications and services,
standardisation initiatives, user experience.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

- RF & hardware for the IoT/SSO
- System architectures for the IoT/SSO
- Communication protocols for the IoT/SSO
- Security and Testing for the IoT/SSO
- New applications, services and their deployment for the IoT/SSO
- Mobility management for the IoT/SSO
- Experimental prototypes for the IoT/SSO
- Performance evaluation for the IoT/SSO

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:

All submissions must be original work not under review at any other
workshop, conference, or journal.
The workshop will accept papers describing completed work as well as
work-in-progress. Authors are invited to submit Full Papers (up to 8 pages)
or Short Papers (up to 4 pages) including figures, tables, and references.
Papers should be written according to the IEEE Computer Society format:
http://www.computer.org/portal/web/cscps/formatting.

The submission deadline is April 28th, 2013. The PDF file of your paper
must be submitted on line using the following link:
https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=sso2013.
For any question, send an email to samia.bouzefrane@cnam.fr.

Workshop proceedings will be published in the proceedings of iThings'13 by
IEEE Computer Society (EI indexed). Extended versions of selected papers
will be considered for publication
in several SCI-index international journals.
