== Call for papers == Special Session on Green Cloud Computing: Trends and Challenges (GCC'13) Under the framework of the IEEE The International Conference on Telecommunications for Intelligent Transport Systems – Telecommunications - Middle Eastern (ITST-2013) that will be held on January 21-24, 2013 in Cairo, Egypt. http://www.me-its-t2013.org/ ======================== = General Information = ======================== Cloud computing is one of the fast emerging fields in computing science and technology, which will have a major impact on the quality of science and research as well as human daily life over the coming years. Recently, great attentions in computation research, education, and business communities have been attracted by the concept of cloud computing. The growing demand of cloud infrastructure has drastically increased the energy consumption of data centres, which has become a critical issue. Not only high energy consumption refers to high operational cost, which reduces the profit margin of cloud providers, but also leads to high carbon emissions, the fact that is not environmentally friendly. Hence, energy-efficient solutions are required to minimize the impact of cloud computing on the environment. Green cloud computing refers to environmental-friendly and cost-efficient cloud computing via finding ways for cutting down drastically on the power and cooling costs, leading to a greener IT. The main goal of this session is to provide a timely scientific forum gathering people from academia, research, and industry in order to discuss, exchange, and disseminate new methodologies and techniques with addition to future challenges for improving the energy and resource efficiency of green cloud computing. ====================== = Topics of Interest = ====================== Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: · Energy/cost/efficiency of security in clouds · Green data centres · Cloud wireless sensor networks · Artificial intelligence · Bio-inspired optimization · Green Web 2.0 and SOA · SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS cloud models · Green IT · Energy-aware cloud services · Energy-efficient cloud architecture · Cooperative Systems applications · Human-machine interfaces · Energy-aware cloud resource management · Smart Cities · Intelligent Green Environments · Sustainable urban environment and mobility ========================= = Submission Guidelines = ========================= The authors are encouraged to submit full papers describing original, previously unpublished research results, not currently under review by another conference or journal, addressing state-of-the-art research and development in the area of green cloud computing. All submitted papers will be reviewed by at least 3 independent reviewers. Accepted papers will be published in IEEE Xplore (approved) and indexed in relevant databases. Papers must be submitted via EDAS in pdf format. The total length of a paper should not exceed 6 pages formatted according to the IEEE Template. =================== = Important Dates = =================== Paper Submission Deadline: September 1st,2012 Acceptance Notification: September 15th,2012 Camera-Ready Submission Deadline: October 1st,2012 Registration Deadline: October 1st,2012 ====================== = Session Organizers = ====================== *Aboul Ella Hassanien Cairo University Faculty of Computers and Information Cairo, Egypt Scientific Research Group in Egypt (SRGE) Abo@egyptscience.net *Nashwa El-Bendary Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport Cairo, Egypt Scientific Research Group in Egypt (SRGE) nashwa.elbendary@ieee.org nashwa.elbendary@egyptscience.net *Zuraini Ismail Advanced Informatics School, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Dept. of Information Security Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia zurainisma@ic.utm.my *Wardah Zainal Abidin Advanced Informatics School, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Dept. of Informatics Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia wardah@utm.my ================================================================== ================================================================== |
