Call For Papers

ASPECTS OF THE MARVELOUS IN MEDIEVAL LITERATURES (L'AQUILA, Italy, 19-20 November 2012)
The conference will host papers which will show the various kinds of the marvelous in the works of medieval authors writing in both Latin and vernacular languages, in order to observe dynamics of innovation and continuity, common features and specific aspects
through a dialectical comparison of the subjects.
We ask for contributions in the fields of European Medieval Literatures which approach the theme of the marvelous from different perspectives and in various manifestations including visions and miracles, fantastic apparitions, magic objects, journeys to other worlds etc.
Proposals in the form of a 300 word abstract (either in Italian, English, French, German or Spanish) must be sent by 20 June to the following e-mail address: fmarzella@yahoo.it (Dr Francesco Marzella). Notification of paper acceptance by the scientific committee (Franca Ela Consolino, Lucilla Spetia and Chiara Staiti) will be sent to authors by 20 July.
We require papers to last a maximum of 25 minutes in order to allow discussion at the end.

Key note Speakers: Sofia BOESCH-GAJANO (Università degli Studi Roma 3); Dora FARACI (Università degli Studi Roma 3); Jean-René VALETTE (Université Michel de Montaigne Bordeaux 3).
