Call For Papers

On behalf of Organizing Committee we are pleased to invite you to take part in the First International Green Design Conference (GCD2012) on Green Cities, Buildings and Products that will take place in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) from 27 September - 30 September 2012.
The deadline for submitting abstracts is 30 of April 2012.
We invite everyone - academics as well as private and public parties from the industry and market - to join us in exploring and celebrating green solutions that will ensure a bountiful future for all.

While there is an exponential growth in population, there is decline in the resources necessary to sustain this population due to the existing global industrial systems. The emphasis of the conference is on innovative design and engineering methods that will contribute to the process of redefining the quality of life in cities and rethinking the way we create, make and use artifacts and harmonizing those ideas with the 3 P’s; People (population growth and quality of life), Planet (ecology) and Profit (economic prosperity). This subject integrates issues that range across green city design, models of mobility and infrastructure that will reduced emissions of greenhouse gases, noise and pollution, adaptability and flexibility of buildings and building systems to extend their life cycle and recover materials for reuse, C2C, green products, material stewardship through design for re-manufacturing, up-cycling and energy saving. As such, this is a concept that can integrate a wide range of research themes such as: sustainable city development, sustainable transformation of cities and buildings, function neutral buildings, customization of industry, material stewardship through
design for re-manufacturing, supply driven design to design for reconfiguration, reuse and dis-assembly, smart grids, user participation, methods of preservation of cultural heritage, development of policy and regulatory standards aiming at reducing new materials, green economics, development of life cycle costing and other life cycle assessment tools and methods and development of methods for recovery and reuse of materials.
Conference Themes:
1. Green Materials and Technologies
2. Social Cohesion and Cultural Continuity
3. Mobility and Infrastructure
4. Energy Solutions
5. Urban Landscaping and Farming
6. Green Buildings
7. Green Cities
8. Life Cycle Cost
9. Case Studies
10.Green Financial, Policy and Regulatory Standards
