Call For Papers

Scope

Large amount of data will be stored through info-communication networks/services such as SNS (Social Network Services), sensor networks,

life log, etc. these days. These data have possibility to characterize not only info-communication services but also complicated social

systems. In fact, useful knowledge will be expected to be discovered for every field. Therefore, data mining will be more important

technology not only for evolving info-communication networks/services but also for solving many kinds of social systems such as correcting

digital divide, constructing new marketing approaches, etc.

This workshop focuses on data mining for info-communication networks/services and its diffusion. It includes methodology, theoretical

insight and empirical findings for info-communication technologies and services. Our aim is to encourage introducing both technology and

case study. Moreover, we try to share new knowledge through info-communication services.

Topics

The workshop is aimed at bringing together researchers from the areas of info-communication technology/service and data mining.

The targets are info-communication networks, systems, or services considering data mining. We expect to exchange of ideas and perceptions

through the workshop, focused on info-communication technology/service and data mining. Possible topics of interest (but are not limited to):

Data Mining and Algorithm

- Machine learning algorithms and methods

- Text and semi-structured data mining

- Pattern recognition

- Ontology modeling

- Knowledge representation

- Statistics and probability

- Network architecture, evaluation method

- Network control/construction algorithms

Data Mining and Services

- Marketing and strategy

- Customer behavior

- Innovation

- Service/ network management

- Operation process

Others

- Case studies of data mining

Important Dates

Paper submission due: 6 April

Notification of acceptance: 27 April

Camera-ready paper due: 10 May

Conference date: 8-10 August

Submission

Papers are submitted as Full papers (Max 6 pages), Short papers (4 pages), and Education paper (2 pages) on all aspects of the above research

areas. Submitted papers will be evaluated on significance, originality, technical quality, and exposition.

They should clearly establish the research contribution. All accepted papers will be provided an oral presentation at the conference.

There are no formats for initial paper submission, but you can use the final paper format, IEEE 8.5 x 11 proc. style.
