GSMM2012 will be held in Harbin, China on May 27-30, 2012. It is the fifth international conference in its name after the three conferences of TSMMW which is a joint conference concentrating on the emerging applications of millimeter-waves, especially in telecommunications.In 2004, MINT-MIS and TSMMW became an International Joint Conference on Millimeter-Waves. Then, the International Joint Conference was expanded and held at Espoo, in 2006 with MilliLab, VTT, Finland.

Upon the decision of the International Steering Committee during the International Joint Conference of MINT-MIS2007, TSMMW 2007 and Millilab Workshop on Millimeter-waves Technology and Applications in Seoul, Korea, in Feb. 2007, the International Joint Conference was renamed as Global Symposium on Millimeter-Waves (GSMM).

GSMM2008,GSMM2009,GSMM2010 and GSMM2011 were held in China, Japan, Korea and Finland, respectively. GSMM is intended to provide a broad international forum and nice opportunity for the scientists and engineers to present their new ideas and exchange information on millimeter waves.

GSMM2012 is sponsored by Harbin Institute of Technology, technical co-sponsored by IEEE Harbin Section, IEEE Xi'an section and Southeast University State Key Lab of Millimeter Waves. GSMM2012 will be provided a forum to discuss the recent advancement of millimeter-wave devices, circuit and system technologies by an international group of engineers and scientists, which contains lots of high quality keynote speeches, technical sessions, panels, and exhibitions.

The aim of the conferences is to bring together people involved in research and development of millimeter-wave components, equipment and systems in the two application fields, and to explore common areas and synergies in the development of millimeter-wave techniques for commercial and scientific applications, both in space and on ground, and to accelerate the use of millimeter-wave frequencies for various wireless systems. GSMM2012 is intended to provide a broad international forum and nice opportunity for the scientists and engineers to present their new ideas and exchange information on millimeter waves.
