The preliminary schedule is as follows:
– Chapter proposal (title and abstract) due: August 15, 2026
– Full chapters due: October 15, 2026
– The publication is anticipated to be released in Q1 2027

This book is the 5th volume of the “Business and Management in Asia” book series. The 2027 edition of the Business and Management in Asia series focuses on “Digital Transformation in NGOs and Civil Society,” examining how organizations across the social sector are using technology, governance, and innovative management approaches to strengthen resilience, expand reach, and increase effectiveness. The book explores critical themes such as digital capacity building, data-driven decision-making, platform-based collaboration, governance innovation, stakeholder engagement, and the ethical challenges that accompany digital change in mission-oriented organizations.

This volume underscores the growing importance of digital transformation in enabling NGOs and civil society actors to respond to social, economic, and environmental challenges across Asia. Emphasizing resilience, innovation, and responsible governance, it invites readers to rethink conventional approaches and explore how technology can support more inclusive, effective, and future-ready organizations. A valuable resource for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers alike, the book offers timely perspectives on navigating the opportunities and complexities of social sector transformation in Asia in 2027 and beyond.

Required Word Count: There is no set word count required. A chapter should be 4000-6000 words long, including images and references (this is merely a rough guideline). Keep your chapter brief and to the point! Quality is more important than quantity. If the topic requires it, the chapters may be substantially shorter or considerably longer.)

The Asian region continues to be a powerful arena for change, shaped not only by economic dynamism but also by the growing importance of civil society, social innovation, and mission-driven organizations. As societies face complex economic, environmental, and governance challenges, digital transformation is becoming increasingly important in the NGO and civil society sphere as well. Across Asia, NGOs and civil society actors are operating in increasingly complex environments marked by digital transformation, shifting governance expectations, resource constraints, and rising demands for accountability, inclusiveness, and sustainable impact. Organizations are expected to operate more efficiently, engage stakeholders more effectively, and deliver measurable impact in rapidly changing environments. In this context, the ability to build better systems, services, and institutions through technology and innovation has become more important than ever.
