The first Foundations & Practice of Security (FPS) Symposium was held in 2008, following the Canada-France Meeting on Security held at the Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, in 2007. Since then, the FPS Symposium has been held annually, alternating Canadian and French locations. After the previous meetings took place in Grenoble, Toronto, Paris, Montréal, La Rochelle, Clermont-Ferrand, Québec City, Nancy, Toulouse, Ottawa, Bordeaux, Montréal, Brest, the 19th edition will be held on October 13-16, 2026, in Gatineau, Ganada.

Protecting the data and the infrastructure of an increasingly interconnected world has become vital to the normal functioning of all aspects of our daily life. Security, privacy and cyber resilience have emerged as scientific research fields whose multifaceted complexities deserve the attention and synergy of various communities such as mathematics, computer science, information systems, networks, management, and criminology. For the 19th edition, the special topic of the conference will be the security and privacy of AI systems as well as the use of AI to solve fundamental privacy or security issues. In addition, FPS 2026 also includes an Industrial Track, dedicated to work applied in real-world environments, such as simulations in industrial information systems, field experience reports, and case studies involving at least one industrial partner.

We invite researchers and practitioners from all countries working in security, privacy, cyber resilience, and related areas to participate in the event.
