📢 Call for Papers: AI-Powered Crisis Computing
📅 Date: July 11, 2025 📍 Location: Geneva, Switzerland (Hybrid) 📝 Submission Deadline: May 1, 2025 The University of Birmingham, Qatar Computing Research Institute, and Hitotsubashi University are excited to announce a Call for Papers for an expert workshop on AI-Powered Crisis Computing, to be held on the margins of the United Nations AI for Good Summit in Geneva. This interdisciplinary workshop is organized by the University of Birmingham, Qatar Computing Research Institute, and Hitotsubashi University. About the Workshop From armed conflict and humanitarian disasters to societal tipping points, crises are becoming more frequent and interconnected. This workshop will examine how modern computing can help predict, mitigate, and respond to global crises, fostering a deeper, more nuanced understanding of AI’s role in shaping a more resilient future. We invite contributions from academics, policy experts, and industry professionals working at the intersection of AI, crisis response, and global resilience.
