The Southern California Undergraduate Linguistics Conference (SCULC), hosted by the UCLA Linguistics Department and the Bruin Linguists Society, will take place on May 17, 2025. SCULC was founded in 2010 to foster a collaborative, student-run conference for the undergraduate linguistics community.
We invite undergraduate students from all universities to submit abstracts for oral presentations (10-15 minutes) or poster sessions. Presenters are welcome to submit on research in progress. Recent graduates (not yet in graduate programs) are also encouraged to apply. Keynote Speaker: Dr. Shrikanth Narayanan, Professor of Computer Science, Linguistics, Psychology, USC Ming Hsieh Institute Abstract Submission Guidelines: • Deadline: March 21, 2025, 11:59 PM PST • Length: Maximum 500 words (excluding references) • Format: PDF, anonymized submission • Subfields: All areas of linguistics (applied and theoretical) Submit through out portal at: https://bruinlinguists.web.app/sculc If you’re submitting as part of a team or professor-led project, you must provide verification from the PI if accepted. |
