El XVII LAWCC (XVII Latin American Women in Computing Congress) se realizará como parte de la 51a CLEI (Conferencia Latinoamericana de Informática). Su principal objetivo es destacar la investigación, interés y logros de las mujeres en las diversas áreas de la computación, con el objetivo de incentivar la participación activa de más mujeres en el área tecnológica. En la presentación de ponencias se espera identificar los desafíos de las mujeres en las áreas STEM (Ciencias, Tecnología, Ingeniería y Matemáticas) y de las Tecnologías de la Información y las Telecomunicaciones (TIC), en la docencia, en el ámbito laboral y en la investigación. Se busca encontrar formas de abordar los problemas recurrentes relativos al género y la interacción con la sociedad en este contexto.

Tópicos de Interés

- Análisis de las actividades y participación de las mujeres en STEM (Ciencias, Tecnología, Ingeniería y Matemáticas) y TIC (Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación) en general.
- Aportes de mujeres de áreas STEM/TIC.
- Participación femenina en eventos científicos y tecnológicos (hackathons, clubs científicos, talleres, etc.).
- Desarrollo de software (juegos, apps y otros) inclusivo con una fuerte participación de mujeres.
- Iniciativas para promover la equidad de género en STEM/TIC.
- Experiencias de grupos/comunidades de mujeres en áreas STEM/TIC.
- Género e Interacción Humano Computador.
- Modelos de liderazgo femeninos y las TIC.
- Particularidades de género en el desarrollo e implantación de TIC.
- Particularidades de género en la enseñanza de las STEM/TIC, en los 5 niveles: inicial, preescolar, básica/primaria, educación media y superior.
- Participación de las mujeres en la toma de decisiones a nivel nacional e internacional en relación con el uso de las TIC.
- Políticas públicas en torno a las Mujeres y las TIC.
- Iniciativas para despertar vocaciones en STEM/TIC en niñas y mujeres adolescentes y aumentar la participación femenina en este tipo de carreras.

Envío de trabajos

Los trabajos deben ser escritos en inglés, español o portugués, y serán revisados por un comité de programa internacional compuesto por miembros de la academia e industria.

Los autores deben seleccionar el evento “XVII Congreso de la Mujer Latinoamericana en la Computación”.

La publicación de las actas en CEUR.org requiere que al menos la mitad de los trabajos publicados estén en inglés. Si no se alcanza este requisito, desde la organización de LAWCC 2025 se podrá solicitar la posterior traducción al inglés de alguno de los trabajos aceptados.

Proceso de revisión
Todos los artículos serán objeto de “single blind review” por miembros del Comité Científico del XVII LAWCC. Los revisores se regirán por el Código de conducta de revisores de CLEI.

Formato para envío de trabajos

Los trabajos podrán ser FULL PAPER (10-12 páginas) o SHORT PAPER (5-9 páginas), y deberán ser enviados en PDF, en el formato CEUR-ART a una columna.

Los artículos enviados no deben estar publicados ni bajo revisión en ninguna otra conferencia o publicación nacional o internacional. Los autores deben acogerse al Código de conducta de autores de CLEI
(https://www.clei.org/codigo-de-conducta-para-los-autores/).

Envío: Los trabajos deberán ser enviados a través de EasyChair indicando el track seleccionado.

Fechas Importantes

- Fecha límite para envío de trabajos: 18 de mayo de 2025
- Notificación a los autores: 6 de julio de 2025
- Fecha límite para enviar versión final (Camera Ready): 10 de agosto de 2025
- Presentaciones presenciales: entre el 27 y 31 de octubre en Valparaíso

Presentación de los Artículos: los artículos aceptados serán presentados en sesiones temáticas, consistentes en 15 minutos de presentación oral de cada artículo completo, seguido de preguntas de los asistentes; y de 5 minutos de duración para trabajos cortos.
Publicación e Indexación
Todos los trabajos aceptados se publicarán en las memorias de la XVII LAWCC que se enviarán a CEUR-WS.org para su publicación en línea. Si quedan publicadas en CEUR- WS.org, las actas tendrán ISBN y estarán indexadas, entre otros, en DBLP y Scopus.

Para asegurar la publicación de un artículo aprobado en las memorias de la XVII LAWCC, por lo menos uno de los autores tendrá que inscribirse en la 51a CLEI, y el artículo respetar el formato indicado (CEUR-ART 1 columna) y no exceder el número máximo de páginas previsto. Además, los autores de trabajos que reciban recomendaciones para mejorar el artículo, deberán seguirlas antes del envío de la versión final.

The XVII LAWCC (XVII Latin American Women in Computing Congress) will be held as part of the 51a CLEI (Latin American Computer Conference). Its main objective is to highlight the research, interest and achievements of women in the various areas of computing, with the intention of encouraging the active participation of more women in the field. In the presentation of papers it is expected to identify women's challenges in STEM (Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and Information Technology and Telecommunications (ICT) fields, in teaching, in the workplace and in research. It seeks to find ways to address recurring problems related to gender and interaction with society in this context.

Topics of Interest

- Analysis of the activity and participation of women in STEM (Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) in general.
- Contributions of women from STEM / ICT areas.
Female participation in scientific and technological events (hackathons, science clubs, etc.).
- Inclusive software development (games, apps and others) with a strong participation of women.
- Initiatives to promote gender equity in STEM / ICT.
- Experiences of women's groups / communities in STEM / ICT areas.
- Gender and Human-Computer Interaction.
- Female leadership models and ICT.
- Gender specificities in the development and implementation of ICT.
- Gender specificities in the teaching of STEM / ICT, at the 5 levels: initial, preschool, basic / primary, middle and higher education.
- Participation of women in decision-making at the national and international level in relation to the use of ICT.
- Public policies around Women and ICT.
- Initiatives to awaken vocations in STEM/ICT in adolescent girls and women and increase female participation in this type of careers.

Paper submission

Entries must be written in English, Spanish, or Portuguese, and will be reviewed by an international program committee made up of members from academia and industry. Submissions must be made through EasyChair. Authors must select the event "XVII Congress of Latin American Women in Computing".
The publication of the proceedings on CEUR.org requires that at least half of the published works be in English. If this requirement is not met, the organization of LAWCC 2025 may request the subsequent translation into English of any of the accepted works.

Review process

All articles will be subject to “single blind review” by members of the XVII LAWCC Scientific Committee. Reviewers will be governed by the Código de conducta de revisores de CLEI.

Submission format

The works may be FULL PAPER (10-12 pages) or SHORT PAPER (5-9 pages), and must be sent in PDF, in the CEUR-ART format to one column.
Submitted articles should not be published or under review at any other national or international conference or publication. Authors must adhere to the CLEI Authors Code of Conduct (https://www.clei.org/codigo-de-conducta-para-los-autores/).

Important dates

- Notification of acceptance: July 6, 2025
- Reception Final Version of contributions: (Camera Ready): August 10, 2025

Publication and Indexing

All accepted papers will be published in the proceedings of the XVII LAWCC, which will be submitted to CEUR-WS.org for online publication. If published on CEUR-WS.org, the proceedings will have ISBN and will be indexed in, among others, DBLP and Scopus.

To ensure the publication of an approved article in the proceedings of the XVII LAWCC, at least one of the authors will have to register for the 51a CLEI, and the article must respect the indicated format (CEUR-ART 1 column) and not exceed the maximum number of pages foreseen. In addition, authors of papers that receive recommendations to improve the article must follow them before sending the final version.
