Translator Training in Yemen: Challenges and Opportunities in Times of Conflict CALL FOR ABSTRACTS We would like to invite the submission of abstracts for the Translator Training in Yemen: Challenges and Opportunities in Times of Conflict, hosted online and organized by the Department of English & Translation, University of Science and Technology, Hodeidah, Yemen. Initially intended as a regional workshop, this has now evolved into a full-fledged conference, thanks to the support of IATIS. We are honored to host this conference with the support of the International Association of Translation & Intercultural Studies (IATIS), whose financial backing and guidance have been crucial. This conference explores the reality of teaching translation in Yemen, and how it is highly affected by the ongoing conflict. During the workshops, we will discuss the impact of the conflict on the teaching/learning process in the translation departments of Yemeni Universities across the country in addition to an assessment of current translation programs ' development and needs. Besides, a focus will be given to exploring the impact of conflict on training translation students, its challenges and opportunities. We especially encourage researchers and translation industry to participate. We invite submissions from all areas of Translation and Interpretation Training. The main topics include but not limited to: Reality of teaching and training translators in Yemen Impact of conflict on teaching/learning process in Translation Programs Training students in conflict zones: challenges & opportunities Translation industry & translator training: The role of accredited translation offices and language centers.
