Political, social, economic, and technological challenges have transformed, over the past three decades, the language landscape (of linguistic diversity) in Morocco and the context in which Amazigh has evolved. The institutionalization in 2001, then its officialization in 2011 paved the way for a revival at different levels, including the technological aspect.
The questions and debates on "languages in globalization" highlight the impact of technology on languages at a time when they are changing at the speed of the technological evolutions. Human exchanges in the flow of information and communication are increasingly intense, rapid, and complex. By promoting contact between billions of Internet users around the world, the Internet and the created networks help to shatter borders and, thereby, radically changing the languages’ contact terms. In the age of mass media and the apogee of the Artificial Intelligence (AI), relationships with languages are changing and freeing up a whole area of research to explore. Indeed, the potential offered by Artificial Intelligence in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP) lets it meet some of the greatest challenges, through the development of powerful tools ensuring decision-making and the realization of autonomous operations, inferring a change in our day life services and habits, including teaching practices that personalize the learning experience. In this context, the 10th edition of the International Conference on Information and Communication Technology for Amazigh (TICAM), organized by the Center for Computer Sciences Studies, Information Systems, and Communication, aims to strengthen ties between AI and NLP, emphasizing the theme of representations used in NLP, their acquisition and exploitation. Thus, this edition will present a privileged opportunity for debate between various partners, practitioners, academics, and specialists in the field through scientific presentations of diversified research advances, in particular, by their transdisciplinarity and their characters both theoretical and applicative. Participants are invited to submit original papers in the field of information and communication technologies applied to natural languages. Topics of interest include, but not limited to: - Artificial intelligence for the Tifinagh graphics - Technology-mediated learning and teaching - Language revitalization - Development of linguistic resources and tools (written / oral) - NLP for social networks - Retrieval and extraction of information - Optical character recognition - Location and multilingualism - Serious games |
