February 24–26, 2023 | Hybrid event
https://sites.google.com/view/sail-2023/

The Symposium on Artificial Intelligence and Law (SAIL) aims to bring together experts from the Industry and Academia to discuss the future of AI and Law. SAIL provides a venue for AI-Law researchers and law professionals to come together, present and discuss research results, use cases, innovative ideas, challenges, and opportunities that arise from applications of AI in the Legal Domain.

SAIL 2023 will be the 3rd edition in the series, and will be a hybrid event. The in-person event will be at IIIT-Hyderabad, with opportunities for online/virtual participation. SAIL 2023 will consist of invited talks by renowned AI-Law researchers and Law practitioners, tutorials, and a peer-reviewed publication track.

We welcome submissions describing original work on computational challenges on legal data.

Scope of AI in the legal domain
Applications of NLP to tasks on legal data
Position papers describing new legal tasks for Law-AI, new visions, challenges and changes to existing research practices
Creation of curated and/or annotated datasets that can be publicly released and used by the community to advance Law-AI
Descriptions of systems which use AI technologies over legal data
Industrial applications
Legal or socio-legal analyses relating to the role AI can play in the legal field

Tutorials

There will be tutorials to (1) introduce Law students / practitioners to the basics of AI and its application in the legal domain, and (2) introduce AI students / practitioners to the state-of-the-art and practical problems in Law-AI, with special emphasis on Legal NLP and Legal IR
