The Semantic Web was planned as a web of data that enables machines to understand the meaning of information on the WWW. Many of the Semantic Web technologies proposed by the W3C already exist and are used in various contexts where sharing data is a common necessity, such as scientific research or data exchange among businesses. However, the Semantic Web as originally envisioned, a system that enables machines to understand and respond to complex human requests based on their meaning, has remained largely unrealized and its critics have questioned its feasibility. Semantic Web technologies have found a greater degree of practical adoption among specialized communities and organizations for intra-company projects. The practical constraints toward adoption have appeared less challenging where domain and scope is more limited than that of the general public and the WWW.

The goal of the workshop is the feasibility investigation of advanced Semantic Web methods and techniques and their application in different domains such as in the run time of safety-critical live systems or in design time engineering disciplines like software and systems engineering.

Submission

Submit a full paper of at most 12 pages (Springer LNCS formatting guidelines - http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-6-791344-0), including figures and references. The contact author must provide the following information to the workshop chairs: paper title, authors' names, affiliations, postal address, phone, fax, and e-mail address of the author(s), about 200-250 word abstract, and about five keywords. Prepare your paper in PDF file and submit it to the workshop organizers (http://onthemove-conferences.org/index.php/submitpaper).

Submission of a paper implies that should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors will register and present the paper in the conference. Submissions will be reviewed by at least 3 PC members following a double-blind review process. Accepted papers will be given guidelines in preparing and submitting the final manuscript(s) together with the notification of acceptance.


Workshop Organization

Authors of accepted submissions will be asked to give a 10-15 minutes presentation of their research work. Presentations should include research results, interesting research questions, and open issues to be discussed during the workshop. After each presentation, a pre-assigned discussant will provide a critical review of the paper. This will be guided by a list of questions provided by the workshop organizers. Discussion points of major interest will be focused in a dedicated discussion session at the end of the workshop. Two particular roles are taken on by the INBAST attendees:

- A presenter presents his paper but additionally will be asked to take on the role of a discussant for another paper (all the papers will be distributed to the participants in PDF format approx. two weeks prior to the event).

- A discussant prepares the discussion of a paper. The discussants task is to give a review of the paper directly after its presentation. This task will be guided by a predefined set of questions provided by the INBAST organizers.
