Call For Papers

The rapid global expansion of digital technologies restructures many facets of social life, including how people relate to each other, how they work, how they get things done, and what they purchase. There are also new ICT opportunities for administering cities, coordinating more holistically, and making cities “smarter.” It is common for these types of technologies to have an important role in urban environments, such as high-speed internet, 5G mobile networks, and the internet of things. Intelligent cities and automation have encouraged the deployment of AI and robotics for the purpose of improving urban service, such as in city administration, routine upkeep, and sometimes unpleasant work. The global robotics market was expected to reach approximately $170 billion by the year 2020, growing at 13.5% between now and 2027. Smart cities and robot societies seem like an obvious and legitimate match. As opposed to separating data, they both gather information and provide information. They can, however, also help each other in many different ways. Now that the Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0 are in widespread use, mobile robots are employed in many sectors, including manufacturing, defense, and more. They have been employed for specific tasks such as handling items or in specialized areas such as disinfection robots. An intelligent mobile robot is thus must be able to travel either under its own power or by some form of human command and control in a variety of environments. A number of different approaches have been applied to make mobile robot motion planning and obstacle avoidance techniques workable.

But however beneficial urbanization may be, it also comes with problems like congestion, energy usage, clean air, and a major increase in disparities brought on by climate change. Robotics and autonomous systems (RAS) may provide a better foundation for urban growth in transportation, logistics, healthcare, and maintenance. It is quickly noticed that they could greatly influence city design and operation, as well as our personal, working, and public lives. There is a deep-rooted and complex need for expertise to design robotic intelligence, requiring a multidisciplinary approach to development. Robotics encompasses five different areas: movement and recognition, interaction, automation, and visual and audio interfaces; it involves the incorporation of the newest technologies in the development of smart cities. In order to make the theory applicable to the real world, which deals with vision systems, motion controls, human-computer interaction, and more realistic systems, advanced techniques and techniques that include these must be utilized.

This issue, “Intelligent Robotics for Smart Cities,” gives the ideal backdrop to showcase some cutting-edge technologies at play in the research and development process of creating better cities. It helps to promote discussion of these impacts to a wider extent. The researchers equipped with knowledge can actively contribute by sharing their skills and technologies through a variety of relatable and believable use cases.

The following topics are welcome but not restricted to:

• Designing Surveillance robots incorporating audio and video
• Computer Vision based models for smart city applications
• Automation and Robotics for smart cities
• Enhancing smart city applications with Speech and Natural Language Processing techniques
• Developing 3D models from Multiview and sensors for smart city
• Developing Use cases in Smart City Applications
• Developing IoT applications for smart cities
• Technologies in Audio and Vision systems used in robots
• Enhanced Human Computer interaction in Intelligent robots for smart cities
• Location control and Management of Robots in various infrastructures
• Intelligent navigation techniques for smart city management
• Devising Unmanned models for intelligently managing the smart cities
