Call For Papers

We invite submissions to the Enterprise Modelling track of ECIS 2023. The paper submission deadline is November 17, 2022. Submission guidelines available at https://ecis2023.no/submissions/call-for-papers/

Track Description

Enterprise modelling supports the creation of innovative digital solutions and thus the investigation of novel designs to drive digital futures - either from a design decisions perspective or an empirical perspective. It is a standard practice in business and information systems engineering research as it supports the alignment of business requirements and IT systems. It includes the modelling, analysis and simulation of strategies, business processes, enterprise architectures and software systems and is therefore capable of attracting a large audience from academia and practice.

Enterprise modelling is an established approach for the conceptual representation, design, implementation and analysis of information systems in general and the support of design decisions and communication. It contributes with the conceptualization, implementation, and use of machine-processable languages to facilitate the interaction with complex business and technological scenarios, to engage in knowledge management and to support organizational engineering. In addition, the development of reference models for selected domains, the design of generic models for enterprise architecture management, and the development of modelling tools are investigated.

Topics covered by this track include, but are not limited to:

- Conceptualization of enterprise modelling methods
- Digital innovation and digital transformation driven by enterprise modelling methods
- Enterprise modelling platforms & tools
- Enterprise modelling for disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence and distributed ledger technologies
- Value modelling for innovative business models
- Semantic-based enterprise modelling and enterprise ontologies
- Enterprise architecture modelling
- Multi-level enterprise modelling
- Enterprise modelling for human value-driven digitalization
- Enterprise modelling for business ecosystems and enterprise architecture
- Domain-specific enterprise modelling
- Best practices, use cases and case studies

Arrangements for subsequent journal publications will be sought after with Business & Information Systems Engineering (BISE, Department Enterprise Modeling and Enterprise Engineering) and Enterprise Modeling and Information Systems Architecture Journal (EMISAJ).
