Call For Papers

We would like to invite you to submit a paper to a half-day symposium on CCTV video processing at the Emerging Security Technology conference, which is to be held at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston on 1 – 2 September 2011.

Accepted papers may be on any topic related to CCTV image/video analysis including, but not limited to, human behaviour analysis, crowd management (movement and densities), person/vehicle tracking, data compression, image enhancement, artifact removal, etc.

Main conference website: www.est-2011.info
Call for papers: www.cems.uwe.ac.uk/~gaatkins/estCall.doc
Paper format: www.cems.uwe.ac.uk/~gaatkins/estFormat.doc

The symposium is intended to be relaxed and informal. It is aimed at sharing ideas and networking although accepted papers will be published in a special issue of IJBSBT (www.sersc.org/journals/IJBSBT/). In keeping with the informal nature of the symposium, authors are able to submit papers in extended abstract format (~2 page) or a full paper (max 12 pages, typically ~6 pages). Although, extended abstracts will be published (at the author's request), we will be unable to allow these to be developed into full papers. Should too few papers be accepted for the symposium then the successful papers will be presented elsewhere in the conference. Please inform us of your intention to submit in order to assist with planning.

PhD students working closely in the different areas of CCTV video processing are particular encouraged to submit a paper on their work.

The deadline for extended abstract/paper submission is 3 June 2011. Author notification will be on 24th June and camera-ready papers are expected on 4th July. Please submit papers via email to Gary Atkinson (www.cems.uwe.ac.uk/~gaatkins/).
