Call For Papers

Invitation
The organizers of SEDTEC 2011 invite you to join us in welcoming the attendees from all over the Philippines to Catanduanes Island, Bicol Region during this national conference from 19-21 May 2011.

Vision
Science, Education and Technology provide enormous opportunities to humankind that must be explored, integrated and enhanced into the future. The impact of technological advances such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the Philippine society as a result of global developments must be fully considered.

Aim of SEDTEC 2011
SEDTEC 2011 brings together teachers (elementary/high school/tertiary), scientists, leading computer engineers, industry researchers and scholar students to exchange and share their experiences and research results about all aspects in Science Education, Mathematics/Engineering Education, Business Education, Knowledge-Based Education and Educational Technology. Discussions may cover even the fields of Pure and Applied Sciences, Philosophy, Classical History, Arts, Divinity and Religious Studies.

The Conference titled Explore, Integrate, Enhance, invites attendees to explore into the issues which teachers, technologists, businessman, public servants and researchers face the world over-improving efficiency and effectiveness in teaching and learning using “technology” in the classroom, in research, in enhancing service quality in schools, telecenters, libraries, museums, community service, public policy and governance, etc.

Moreover, SEDTEC attendees are expected to integrate theory, concepts, methods and practical experience as exemplars so that over-all enhancement is achieved. This conference aims to promote, the roles played by the different sectors in developing and enriching individuals, communities and societies through Science, Education and Technology. In the said aims, SEDTEC in Catanduanes Island spearheads in providing a unique experience in developing the countryside towards a “telematic” culture in schools, colleges, universities, local government units, business centers, industries and other service-oriented institutions found in remote areas.

We at SEDTEC believe that development should not be focused on the mainland or the urban centers, and we should strive to put into practice the so-called “spread policy” by giving every island of the Philippine archipelago, various opportunities for development. This SEDTEC experience will be focused on providing new ways of enhancing Science, Education and Technology in the country.

We invite you to join us in our journey of exploring new ways, integrating technology and enhancing the fields of Science, Education and Technology through this national conference in Catanduanes Island, the Pearl of the Eastern Seas.

SEDTEC will be aimed at the widest possible groups of participants stakeholders from academics to industry and include elements specifically targeted at the public and school children and the youth. The conference structure and format is designed to maximize interaction between participants mixing oral presentations, poster, workshops and exhibition. The conference will have an interdisciplinary focus and is organized into themes rather than by the subjects to maximize interdisciplinary linkages.
