Call For Papers

Call for Papers

Information technology is increasingly permeating all sectors of both economic and everyday life increasing the importance of the Information Systems field. The goal of the 10th International Conference Wirtschaftinformatik (Information Systems) is to improve our understanding of this development from a scientific perspective as well as to provide practitioners and academics a platform for the discussion of this topic.

In particular, the increasing pace of changes due to the Internet/ Business 2.0 phenomenon require reflection on the durability of our findings. Therefore, we chose the conference motto "Information Systems 2.011" to illustrate our needs to think beyond the current phenomena.

We invite you to submit original (i.e., previously unpublished) and well-grounded papers of a theoretical, empirical, and design science nature. Research papers should clearly present their scientific contributions and show sound methodological foundation. We particularly encourage papers that ensure the repeatability of their results for others, in which the data and findings are made available to the community. With this encouragement we would like to facilitate research, which builds on the findings of others.

The General Chairs and the Track Chairs (TC) cordially invite you to submit articles in the following topic areas:

* Track 1: IS in Services
(TC: Susanne Leist und Robert Winter)
* Track 2: IS in Industries and Business Applications
(TC: Peter Loos und Markus Nüttgens)
* Track 3: Information Management
(TC: Helmut Krcmar and Detlef Schoder)
* Track 4: Development / Architecture of IS
(TC: Gerti Kappel and Gustaf Neumann)
* Track 5: Adoption, Usage and Impact of IS
(TC: Wynne Chin, Jens Dibbern and Armin Heinzl)
* Track 6: New Technologies and Applications
(TC: Bettina Berendt, Oliver Günther)
* Track 7: Theory and Methodology of Information Systems
(TC: Stefan Klein, and Volker Wulf)
* Student Track
(TC: Jan vom Brocke)

Instructions for Submissions

For the scientific program part of the conference, we invite authors from academia and industry to submit papers to the listed tracks. The submissions can be in German or English and they must follow the template style. The paper length will be limited to 10 pages.

The style sheet will be available shortly as LaTeX template (CLS file) as well as DOT-file for MS Word. It essentially corresponds to the ACM Proceedings template "Strict SIGS Style" (see also http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates). The papers should be submitted as PDF files only. Accepted papers must be submitted both in PDF and in the original format.

Authors are requested to anonymize their submissions. Please remove name, address, etc. on the cover page as well as delete the metadata in the PDF file. References to own publications need not be made anonymous. The paper has to include an abstract of up to 100 words. The submission can only be made for one track and is only possible through the online tool (we will provide the system details here shortly).

All accepted papers will go through a double-blind review process by an international program committee. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings as well as provided for download on the conference website. The inclusion of an accepted paper in the proceedings requires the registration of at least one author for the conference and the submission of the camera-ready paper version.

Accepted papers will be considered for the nomination of the "Best Paper Award 2011”.

Doctoral Consortium and Students Track

As in the previous years, we will also conduct a Doctoral Consortium as part of this conference.

We are organizing a separate Student Track this year. This new track will allow students to submit their first scientific findings in a conference.

Please note that these two tracks use their own paper submission tools.
