1st Workshop on Cyber-Physical Social Systems (CPSS) 2019
University of Deusto, Avenida de las universidades, 24 48007 Bilbao (Spain) October 22-25, 2019 - https://cpss.netsons.org/ in conjunction with the 9th International Conference on the Internet of Things (IoT 2019) =========================================================================== MISSION: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cyber-physical systems (CPSs) are related to the integration of computing and communication capabilities into physical systems. An example of CPSs is the smart city model, which is growing around the prototype of an urban (physical) environment with a new generation of innovative services for transportation, energy distribution, healthcare, environmental monitoring, business, emergency response, and social activities developed in its digital twins. Smart cities are also an example of how CPSs must include the presence of people, which can’t be neglected in the loop of producing, collecting and consuming data, information and services. Enabling the technology for such a setting requires a viewpoint of Smart Cities as system of cyber-physical and social systems (SCPSSs) which are the result of the integration of several technologies that cooperate to provide seamless services to end users. Such technologies enable the collection, storage, and processing of massive amount of data gathered from the environment and/or produced by citizens themselves. Social interactions amongst participants are promoted as well.CPSS 2019 wants to present innovative research trends and to explore new challenges in the field of smart cities as a system of cyber – physical systems crossed with the social perspective. The aim of the workshop is to bring together researchers, practitioners, smart city operators and industries working in the field in order to cross-fertilize theoretical and practical aspects. TOPICS: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -Deployment and autonomic management of densely interconnected and decentralised IoT and cloud infrastructures, including data collection services owned by people -Dynamic orchestration of heterogeneous resources for CPSSs -(Devices, Data, Service, People) Discovery in CPSSs -Infrastructures, platforms, and software for CPSSs -Systems-of-systems architectures for CPSSs -Social aspects of Osmotic computing -Deployment of Social Cyber – physical systems in Smart Cities -Security of CPSSs -Data protection of CPSSs -Governance of SCPSSs -Data quality management in SCPSSs -Self-management and self-awareness in SCPSSs -Human-to-machine interfaces in SCPSSs -Applications to mobility, healthcare, education, governance and industry -Management of Critical infrastructures as CPSSs -Development and deployment of Mobile crow sensing systems -Citizen science applications and experiences -“Man-in-the-Loop” related developments and applications of CPSs -Social implications of cyber-physical systems in smart cities -Blockchain for Smart Cities PAPER SUBMISSION: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We invite original research papers that have not been previously published and are not currently under review for publication elsewhere. Submitted papers should be no longer than 8 pages in two-column ACM template format. All papers should be submitted via EDAS using the following link https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cpss2019 Paper submission implies the willingness of at least one author to register (either one day or to the full conference), at the regular rate, and present the paper. BEST PAPER AWARD: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A "Best Paper Award" Certificate will be conferred on the author(s) of a paper presented at the workshop, selected by the Chairs based on scientific significance, originality and outstanding technical quality of the paper, as assessed also by the evaluations of the members of the Program Committee. IMPORTANT DATES: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (Optional) Abstract Submission Date: August 4, 2019 Paper Submission Deadline: August 28, 2019 Notification of Acceptance: September 8, 2019 Camera-ready Submisison Deadline: September 15, 2019 VENUE: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ University of Deusto, Avenida de las universidades, 24 48007 Bilbao (Spain) |
