Call For Papers

Today’s internet is based on human oriented applications (web browsing, Email checking, social network applications, video streaming, etc.). The future of internet is predicted to be focusing on the interconnection of objects, or what is called the internet of things. That is, the Internet will serve as a seamless fabric and networked objects, where computers and phones that we currently use as the only mean to connect to internet will be augmented by other autonomous objects, such as RFID technology, sensor networks, actuators, etc., which will connect to internet and exchange information without involving the user. This is to provide the user with a variety of real world services.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly gaining ground in the arena of wireless telecommunications and computer science, and attracting the research community in related fields. The workshop is organized in the context of research project between university of Cape town, RSA, and CERIST research centre, Algeria, co-funded by NRSF and DGRSDT. The aim is to bring researchers working on topics related to the on-going project in particular, and the arena of IoT in general, both from academia and research, to discuss and current contributions and results, and debate future perspectives.

All papers will be published in an abstract booklet that will be distributed at the workshop venue. Extended versions of selected papers will be published, after a rigorous reviewing process, as chapters in a book with ISBN published by UNESCO (pending approval) or papers in an international journal (pending approval).
