Dear Friends of ESCTAIC,
We are very happy to inform you, that the first call for papers for the 21^st meeting of the European Society for Computing & Technology in Anesthesia & Intensive Care (www.esctaic.org), which will be held between the 6^th and 9^th of October 2010 at the VU University, Amsterdam, is now available at www.esctaic.org/congress/2010.nl As always, all accepted abstracts will be published in the Journal of Clinical Monitoring and Computing. Those from last year’s meeting in Berlin will be published in the January version 2010, coming out shortly. In addition, selected authors will be invited to write up their work for full papers in a special ESCTAIC issue of the same journal. This year there will be several issues focused on in the meeting. In particular sessions will be held on the following topics, and we welcome submissions in these and other ESCTAIC areas. The role of open source in Anaesthesia and ICU Professional stress Human factors Protocol-based medicine Tissue oxygenation Decision support for mechanical ventilation Ergonomics Simulation Application of wireless technology In addition a number of prominent speakers will be addressing the congress, including Professor Jukka Takala, University Hospital Bern, Switzerland. Professor Allan Morris, University of Utah, USA. Dr. Eric Stricker, University Hospital of Tuebingen, Germany CME accreditation is being applied for from several countries.
