The SBMicro symposium is an international forum dedicated to fabrication and modeling of microsystems, integrated circuits and devices, held annually in Brazil. The goal of the symposium is to bring together researchers in the areas of processing, materials, characterization, modeling and TCAD of integrated circuits, microsensors, microactuators and MEMS. The SBMicro2011 will be located in João Pessoa, Brazil. This international conference offers a unique blend of microelectronics and serves as a major conference for the discussion of interdisciplinary research around the world through a variety of formats, such as oral presentations, poster sessions, exhibits, panel discussions, and tutorial sessions. The best papers presented at the symposium will be invited to resubmit an extended version that will be considered for publication at the JICS - Journal of Integrated Circuits and Systems and at the Journal of the Electrochemical Society. SBMicro2011 will occur in the same venue as SBCCI2011 - 24rd Symposium on Integrated Circuits and Systems Design.

Deadline and Paper Format:
Deadline for Paper Submission: March 29th, 2011
Notification of Acceptance: May 14th, 2011
Camera-Ready Deadline: May 21st, 2011

SBMicro2011 will receive camera-ready submissions in English for consideration by the Program Committee with a maximum of 10 pages. Location:
João Pessoa is one of the oldest cities in Brazil and was founded by the Portuguese in 1585 after wars against the local Indians and the invading French. It had a stormy history and came under Spanish influence when Spain and Portugal were briefly united in the Iberian Union (1580-1640).
Besides beautiful beaches and white sand caressed by the warm, turquoise sea, the capital of Paraíba State is a city with very unique characteristics, including beautiful baroque structures, like the church São Francisco and the convent Santo Antonio, dating back to the XVIII century. João Pessoa is full of preserved natural forests, squares and gardens, which is why it is considered one of the cities with the highest index of green area per inhabitant in the world. Another beauty of the city is the Cliffs with the majestic Cabo Branco Lighthouse and Ponta do Seixas, the easternmost point of South America.
