Announcing Reusable Abstractions of Manufacturing Processes (RAMP) Challenge and invite you and your students to submit. The challenge will encourage the development of manufacturing process models which can be reused for future projects. Students, faculties, researchers, and manufacturers may submit models of any manufacturing process demonstrating application of the ASTM E3012-16 for characterizing Unit Manufacturing Processes (UMP) for information sharing and sustainability assessment. The goal is for these standardized models to be reused, extended, and modified for many applications including simulation and optimization. We envision a collection of the resultant models that can be composed into system-level analysis that will have the potential to become great resources to facilitate and speed up models development to the benefit of the greater manufacturing community.
