Call For Papers | |||||||||||||
The motivation of this workshop is to introduce the recent technical progress of hand-based biometrics and timely address the emerging challenges in designing, developing, and deploying modern hand-based biometric systems for various practical applications. The workshop aims to provide a vibrant forum for researchers and engineers to share their latest research results, findings and experience in relevant fields. The scope of this workshop includes, but not limited to, the following topics:
New sensors for hand-based biometric data acquisition; Preprocessing, indexing, compression, recognition, and transmission of fingerprint, palm-print, hand geometry (or hand shape), finger-knuckle-print, hand vein, and other (new) hand-based biometrics; Multi-modal hand-based biometrics; Securing and anti-spoofing techniques for hand-based biometrics; Touchless (or contact-free) and 3D hand-based biometrics; Applications of hand-based biometrics. Paper Submission Papers must be written in English, have four (4) to six (6) double column pages, and should adhere to the ICPR conference submission guidelines regarding the paper format (see Paper Submission at the ICPR2010 website http://www.icpr2010.org). Details on paper submission are available on the workshop website. In submitting a paper to ETCHB, the authors acknowledge that no paper substantially similar in content has been or will be submitted to another conference or workshop during the ETCHB review period. All accepted papers will be published in the workshop proceedings on CD-ROM. One or two special issues on international journals (SCI-Indexed or EI-Indexed) with selected papers are being planned. Details will be announced later in the workshop website http://www.comp.polyu.edu.hk/~etchb2010. Important Dates Paper submission: April 1, 2010 Acceptance notification: May 1, 2010 Early registration: May 14, 2010 Final camera-ready manuscript due: May 15, 2010 |
