The XX Brazilian Symposium on Multimedia and the Web (Webmedia'2014) is the XXX. Webmedia'2014 will be held in Joao Pessoa/PB, Brazil 18-21 November 2014 (www.webmedia2014.lavid.ufpb.br). Supported by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC), WebMedia has been, since 1995, the most important Brazilian forum for presentations, tutorials and discussions concerning recent advances in research and technology related to Multimedia, Hypermedia and the Web, bringing together professionals from both the academia and industry. The event holds the following categories: - Full papers and Short papers - Workshop on Ongoing Thesis and Dissertations (WTD) - Workshop on Tools and Applications (WFA) - Workshop on Undergraduate Research Work (WTIC) - Short Courses Authors are invited to submit papers reporting research results, which will be evaluated in terms of: originality, technical content and accuracy, significance of the work, presentation (organization, style and clearness), and appropriateness of references to papers presented in earlier editions of the event. This edition of Webmedia is organized into three tracks: - Web and Social Networks (co-chair: Alessandra Alaniz - USP) - Multimedia (co-chair: Celso Alberto Saibel Santos - UFES) - Digital TV, Ubiquitous and Mobile Computing (co-chair: Fernando Trinta –UFC) The evaluation of full papers will have a rebuttal phase, in which authors may access the reviews and have the opportunity to respond to reviewers before the final selection. The Proceedings, containing the full and short papers, will be published in the ACM DL during the event. Due to editorial requirements, only papers whose authors meet the hard deadlines for submitting the final version will be published in the proceedings. Upon submitting a manuscript, authors assume the commitment that, if the paper is accepted, at least one author will register in the conference and present the paper. Authors can submit full or short papers. Full papers can have a length of up to 8 pages at submission and should report on substantial research supported by complete results. Short papers submission are limited to 4 pages and may describe ongoing work and contain partial results. Papers must be prepared to allow double-blind review, which requires removing any information which may suggest who the authors are (in the first page, in the references etc.). Papers can be written either in English or Portuguese. Papers in Portuguese must include an abstract in English, and optionally an abstract in Portuguese. The submissions must be in PDF, complying with the ACM format (http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html).
