CALL FOR PAPERS
FULL AND SHORT PAPER SUBMISSIONS Authors are invited to submit papers reporting research results, which will be evaluated in terms of: originality, technical content and accuracy, significance of the work, presentation (organization, style and clearness), and appropriateness of references to papers presented in earlier editions of the event. This edition of Webmedia is organized into three tracks: Web and Social Networks (co-chair: Andre Santanchè - Unicamp) Multimedia (co-chair: Ethan V. Munson - University of Wisconsin / Milwaukee) Digital TV, Ubiquitous and Mobile Computing (co-chair: Maria da Graça C. Pimentel - USP) Moreover, in this edition, the evaluation of full papers will have a rebuttal phase, in which authors may access the reviews and have the opportunity to respond to reviewers before the final selection. Another key change in this edition concerns the Volume 1 of the Proceedings which, containing the full and short papers, will be published in the ACM DL during the event. For this to be possible, only papers whose authors meet the hard deadlines for submitting the final version will be published in the proceedings. As in previous editions, upon submitting a manuscript, authors assume the commitment that, if the paper is accepted, at least one author will register in the conference and present the paper. Authors can submit full or short papers. Full papers (between 6 and 8 pages) should report on substantial research supported by complete results. Short papers (4 pages) may describe ongoing work and contain partial results. Papers must be prepared to allow double-blind review, which requires removing any information which may suggest who the authors are (in the first page, in the references, etc.). Papers can be written either in English or Portuguese. Papers in Portuguese must include an abstract in English, and optionally an abstract in Portuguese. The submissions must be in PDF, complying with the ACM format (http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html). All papers must be submitted electronically by the EasyChair system: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=webmedia2012 Previous editions of the Volume 1 of the Proceedings are available at: http://portal.acm.org/event.cfm?id=RE446 Topics and technologies relevant to the symposium include, among others: Web and Social Networks Track Architectures, processes, services, methodologies and applications Web Interfaces, usability and accessibility Mobile devices and the Web Browsers and presentation engines Authoring, collaboration, content adaptation and personalization Social Networks and social and Emergent Semantics Document engineering Web engineering Standards for documents, models and languages Structured data on the Web Semantic Web, linked data, annotations, metadata and ontologies Web services, service-oriented Web applications and semantic Web services Content management and digital libraries on the Web Interaction and user experience Web 2.0 applications - rich internet applications, mashups, apps and other component models Multimedia Track Architectures, systems, middleware and applications Distribution, transport, sharing and security Analysis, coding, and processing of multimedia content Search and retrieval of multimedia content Authoring, production, synchronization, presentation Collaboration, adaptation and personalization of content Multimedia and social networks Multimedia and mobile devices Interaction and user experience Digital TV, Ubiquitous and Mobile Computing Track Languages, architectures, middlewares and frameworks Analysis, coding, and processing of content Collaboration, adaptation and personalization of content Context-aware computing Content authoring, testing and verification Application authoring, testing and verification Mobile devices and multiple devices Interaction and user experience Important dates May 14, 2012 - Full paper deadline 14-21 June 2012 - Reboutal June 29, 2012 - Author notification (full paper) August 19, 2012 - Camera-ready full paper July 01, 2012 - Short paper deadline July 23, 2012 - Author notification (short paper) August 19, 2012 - Camera-ready short paper |
