Cloud computing is now a consolidated paradigm that shares many characteristics from the "computing as a utility" paradigm. Cloud computing has been widely endorsed, from standalone users to universities and companies, to provide on demand access to elastic resources on a pay per use mode. Notwithstanding, many advances are yet expected in order to efficiently enable the Cloud as a utility, both from the user and provider perspectives. The aim of this special issue is to explore recent advances in theory, algorithms, models, technologies, and applications in Cloud computing. Original, unpublished manuscripts in any aspects of Cloud computing are welcomed for this special issue. The topics of interest include:
-Dynamic provisioning algorithms and scheduling in Clouds -Resource management in virtualized cloud data centers -Hybrid Clouds composition and management -Data management and Big Data in Cloud computing -InterCloud, Cloud Federation, and interoperability issues -Cloud-enabled Scientific processing -Programming paradigms for Cloud computing -Pricing and billing strategies for Cloud computing -Service Level Agreemets and Quality of Service in Cloud environments -Security, privacy, confidentiality, and integrity issues in Clouds -Measurement and Monitoring -Analytical modeling and performance evaluation -Fault tolerance and dependability in Clouds -Middleware for Cloud environments -Fog Computing -Mobile Cloud -Green / Energy-efficient Cloud computing -Software Defined Networking and Cloud architectures -Integration of Cloud computing and Internet of Things -Applications of new cloud computing concepts and platforms to real and complex problems in science, engineering, business, and society. Submission details Manuscripts should be submitted at Elsevier Editorial System (http://ees.elsevier.com/compeleceng/) using the Article Type "SI-cloud".
