The 5th International Law Congress of Youth
Istanbul-Turkey 20-21 April 2017 Young Perspectives to Legal Education in Universities The law is in our lives since the 22nd century BC, when a Sumerian ruler Ur-Nammu created the first law code which consisted of casuistic statements. Since then, every society happened to create their on laws in order to live in ordonnance and security, which would bring justice to their lives. For Plato, justice is an asset establishing rational order, with each part performing its appropriate role and not interfering with the proper functioning of other parts. Aristotle indicated justice comprises in what is lawful and fair, with fairness involving equitable distributions and the reformation of what is inequitable. Legal understandings are very variable because of different societies and we find many differeng laws like Ancient Law, Southern Asia Law, Roman Law, Canon Law, Islamic Law, Anglo-Saxon Law and more throughout history. The origins of these concepts were effected by economic, sociology, psychology, religions, wars, etc. Despite the different apperceptions, law never appeared as a minor issue for societies and people always questioned what is just and what should law be to maintain a healthy living condition. We witnessed or read historical events and realized how important the impacts of laws of a state and how it shapes and determines the destinies of societies. Therefore, centuries of experience made the science of law one of the most powerful and prestigious fields on the world. Does not matter whether there is a billion dollar worth of a commercial agreement or a human rights violation, law is always applied to bring the just solution to complications with a wide range of regulations. In the light of the importance of law, the question is raised how scholars of such a vital field should be raised and prepared for being the best executives? How should they be trained to be able to make the right decision at the right time to maintain justice? How legal education effects societies' development and understanding of what is just? The 5th International Law Congress of Youth is aiming to find answers to these kind of questions and more by gathering all students around the world to discuss the importance and methods of legal education with their different and colorful perspectives.
