Special Issue On: Smart Technologies Using Internet of Things
Submission Due Date 10/02/2017 The special issues will target high quality research papers from the International Conference on Smart Technologies in Computer and Communication (SmartTech-2017). The selected and extended papers of the conference will be further reviewed for publication in special issue. For this visit at www.smarttech2017.com Guest Editors Ramesh C. Poonia, Amity University Rajasthan, India Deepshikha Bhargava, Amity University Rajasthan, India Swapnesh Taterh, Amity University Rajasthan, India Vijay Pal Dhaka, Manipal University Jaipur, India Introduction The issue will carry revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the International Conference on Smart Computing and Communication (SmartTech-2017), but we also strongly encourage researchers unable to participate in the conference to submit articles for this call. Smart Technology is the product of accelerated development of the new generation Information Technology and Internet of Things, based on the network combination of the Internet, telecommunications network, broadcast network, wireless broadband network and other sensors networks where Internet of Things (IoT) technology is as its core. The main features of a smart Technology include a high degree of information technology integration and a comprehensive application of information resources. The essential components of smart development should include smart technology, smart industry, smart services, smart management and smart life. The Internet of Things is about installing sensors (RFID, IR, GPS, laser scanners, etc.) for everything, and connecting them to the internet through specific protocols for information exchange and communications, in order to achieve intelligent recognition, location, tracking, monitoring and management. With the technical support from IoT, smart technologies need to have three features of being instrumented, interconnected and intelligent. Only then a Smart Technology can be formed by integrating all these intelligent features at its advanced stage of IOT development. The explosive growth of Smart Technologies and Internet of Things applications creates many scientific and engineering challenges that call for ingenious research efforts from both academia and industry, especially for the development of efficient, scalable, and reliable Smart Technology based on IoT. New protocols, architectures, and services are in dire needs to respond for these challenges. Objective This special issue focuses on the technical issues we face when designing, engineering, deploying, and maintaining the Smart Technologies using IoT. We seek high-quality and unpublished papers that push research in all facets of the Smart Technologies. Contributions may present and solve open technical problems, integrate novel solutions efficiently, and focus on the performance evaluation and comparison with existing standards. Both theoretical and experimental studies are welcome. Recommended Topics Some prospective topics may include but are not limited to the following: Applications (Smart Cities, Smart Home/Buildings, Smart Grid, Healthcare, Smart Environment) 5G Networks & Internet of Things (IoT) Emerging topics and advances in IoT research Future Internet and Next-Generation Architectures Heterogeneous Networks, Web of Things High-Performance Internet Protocols Identity Management and Object Recognition Information Theory and Coding Internet Computing Internet measurement, modeling, and visualization Internet of Nano Things (IoNT) Internet Security and Privacy Localization Technologies Mobility models and mobile networks Mobility, Localization and Management Aspects Next generation mobile/wireless networks Routing and Control Protocols Rural Applications of IT Vehicular, Underground and Underwater Networks Wearables, Body Sensor Networks, Smart Portable Devices Web-Based Learning: Innovation and Challenges Submission Procedure Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit papers for this special theme issue on Smart Technologies on or before February 10, 2017. All submissions must be original and may not be under review by another publication. INTERESTED AUTHORS SHOULD CONSULT THE JOURNAL’S GUIDELINES FOR MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSIONS at http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/.
