-------------------------------------------------------------------------- CALL FOR PAPERS for the 1st Workshop on * LINKED DATA QUALITY * (LDQ 2014) http://ldq.semanticmultimedia.org/ in conjunction with SEMANTiCS 2014 September 2nd, 2014 - Leipzig Germany *** Extended Paper submission deadline: July 18th, 2014 *** -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since the start of the Linked Open Data Cloud, we have seen an unprecedented volume of structured data published on the web, in most cases as RDF and Linked (Open) Data. The quality of these datasets can hardly be better than the original data source. We see datasets originating from crowdsourced sources like Wikipedia and OpenStreetMap and highly curated sources e.g. from the library domain. Quality is of course fitness for use, thus DBpedia currently can be appropriate for a simple end-user application but could never be used in the medical domain for treatment decisions. However, quality is a key to the success of the data web and a major barrier for further industry adoption. The goal of the workshop on Linked Data Quality Assurance is to raise the awareness of quality issues in Linked Data and to promote approaches to improve Linked Data quality. TOPICS OF INTEREST ================== Authors are invited to consider the following (non exhaustive) list of topics: • approaches targeting Linked Data in the areas of: • quality assessment • inconsistency detection • cleansing, error correction, refinement • versioning • reputation and trustworthiness of web resources • quality of ontologies • quality modelling vocabularies • frameworks for testing and evaluation • data validators • best practices for Linked Data management • user experience • empirical studies IMPORTANT DATES =============== All deadlines are unless otherwise stated 23:59 Hawaii time. • Submission of research papers: July 18, 2014 • Notification of paper acceptance: August 1, 2014 • Submission of camera-ready papers: August 22, 2014 • Workshop date: September 2, 2014 PAPER SUBMISSIONS ================= • Full Papers should be no more than 8 pages. • Short paper no more than 4 pages. Full and short papers should follow the ACM ICPS guidelines for formatting (http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates) and must be submitted via the easychair submission page https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ldq2014 as PDF documents (other formats will not be accepted). For the camera-ready version, we will also need the source files (Latex, Word Perfect, Word). Papers must be submitted by July 18, 2014. The best reviewed papers are invited to submit their work to an upcoming special issue on Linked Data Quality (tba) of the Journal of Data and Information Quality (http://jdiq.acm.org/index.html).
