With the exciting developments in several areas and with the advent of ever-increasing and pervasive computational resources, huge opportunities arise for developing intelligent Computational Techniques to solve a variety of real-life problems which have uncertainty, imprecision, vagueness.

This special issue intends to bring together for theoreticians and practitioners from academia and industries worldwide working in the broad range of topics relevant to the theory and practice of Computational Techniques, models and empirical analysis in the areas of Computer Vision and Digital Image Processing, Data Mining, Biomedical engineering, Management and Information security to promote ideas that will influence and encourage researchers to work for the betterment of human mankind.

Recommended topics include (but are not limited to) the following:

Mathematical modelling and Simulation
Data mining and knowledge discovery in multimedia data
Data reduction and feature extraction
Applications of Optimization algorithms
Algorithms for biomedical engineering

Submission Guidelines:

Original and unpublished contributions that should not currently be under review by another journal are solicited. All papers submitted to this Special Issue will undergo the standard review procedures of Journal of Computational Science. All manuscripts should be submitted through the Elsevier Editorial System: http://ees.elsevier.com/jocs Authors should select "SI: Intelligent CT" when reaching step of selecting an article type name in the submission process.

Tentative schedule

Completion first review round: 15th February 2017
Deadline revised manuscripts: 5th April 2017
Completion of the review and revision process: 5th June 2017
