3is INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING CONGRESS OF NATURAL LANGUAGE FOR INDIGENOUS LANGUAGES
(PLN Indigenous Peoples 2023)

(VIRTUAL AND PRESENTIAL)
Call for speakers and attendees
Those interested in participating as speakers may do so in any of the following modalities:
Oral presentation
Speaker in the mode of Application (computer tools, Apps, prototypes, etc) in languages ​​with few computational resources (*)
(*) proof of the existence and functionality of the application must be shown.
The works submitted must be related to Natural Language Processing and/or Indigenous Languages ​​or languages ​​with low computational resources. Proposals do not need to describe work in indigenous languages ​​directly, as long as they indicate how such work can benefit these languages ​​and/or their speakers.
Submissions must correspond to one of the following Thematic Axes:
THEMES
1) Corpus: Development of corpora, dictionaries, lexicons and other linguistic resources (text and speech corpora, monolingual or multilingual)
2) Linguistics: Grammar, linguistic models, morphological and syntactic analysis, semantic processing, lexicography, lexical or semantic disambiguation. POS labeling.
3) Applications: functional tools of text and speech processing:
- Automatic translation
- Speech synthesis and recognition
- Understanding of natural language
- Automatic dialogue systems, questions and answers, chatbots
- Extraction or retrieval of information
- Automatic summary
- Analysis of textual content, feelings and opinions
- Recreational, medical, legal and artistic resources
- Didactic material and educational resources
- Assistive or inclusion technologies
- Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in indigenous languages
4) Rights and promotion: Rights of people who speak indigenous languages, proposals to promote their inclusion and equity in society. Conservation and promotion of indigenous languages. Linguistic accessibility. Others.

Submission of proposals: Authors may submit their proposal (maximum three papers per author) through the page systemhttps://PLNindigenas.org/ Yhttps://www.fie.umich.mx/PLNindigenas/ before February 4, 2023 through an abstract (in Spanish, English or Portuguese) that includes:

Title of the work (Maximum 15 words). In capital letters and bold, centered. Use accents where appropriate.
Data area:
Name of authors, 6 maximum. each author followed by his email. Main author first. (centered)
Affiliation. (centered)
Modality and Thematic Axis. (centered). Examples: Lecture – Corpus, Application – speech recognition)
Keywords (between 3 and 5 words)
Abstract with a minimum of 250 and a maximum of 500 words (without considering the data area). Justified text. Must include:
Introduction, objectives, method, results and partial or definitive conclusions.
* In case of presenting an Essay it must include: introduction, development, conclusions.


Document must be sent in Microsoft Word. Use 12-point TIMES NEW ROMAN font with 1.5 spacing, 2.5 cm margins. (on all four sides of the sheet). No headers or footers. Do not put images of logos or watermarks.

Registration to enter and upload summaries: Those interested in presenting their papers at the Congress must first register through the registration form available athttps://www.fie.umich.mx/PLNindigenas/ Yhttps://PLNindigenas.org/ . Once they enter the form they will be able to upload their summary. (Only one of the authors of the work must upload the abstract, but you can register the name and email of the rest of the authors so that they receive notifications and appear on the work certificate.).

Notice of acceptance: The works will be ruled by the Scientific Committee. Accepted papers will be notified (via email) before February 11, 2023.

Sending of extensions and formal registration of the speakers: The authors whose work has been accepted must send the extension of their work (meeting the requirements indicated in the annex "Requisitos_para_extenso.pdf") to the conference mail and cover their recovery fee as a speaker no later than February 20, 2023, since this is a requirement for the work to be included in the event program. Each author must make their payment for each presentation in which they participate.

Registration of attendees: Attendance to the event is free of charge. Those who are not speakers and want proof of attendance must register as attendees through the form and cover the attendee recovery fee.

Paid: In the Congress registration system there is a link to access the payment system of the Universidad Michoacana where you can generate your payment order (to pay at a bank window or with a credit card). As soon as you generate your payment order, you will receive a confirmation email from umich.mx (it may be necessary to check the spam folder). (*) The speaker's fee includes a speaker's certificate and a certificate of attendance.
(**) Includes proof of attendance.

Delivery of certificates: A certificate will be sent for each work presented (paper or application) with the names of all the authors.
Individual attendance certificates (for speakers and attendees) can be downloaded in digital format on the event page as of March 20, 2023.

Job submission: The accepted papers will be scheduled by the Scientific Committee for their face-to-face presentation or by Meet (as preferred by the speakers) during the days of the event. At least one of the authors must be present (or online) on the corresponding day. The programming corresponds to the schedule of Mexico City. The time available for the presentation is 10 minutes. They may give their presentation in Spanish, English or Portuguese. At the end of each day's presentation session, there will be a question and answer session with interaction with the attendees.
Due to the eventualities that could arise through the virtual modality, the speakers in virtual modality must send a video of his presentation, beforeMarch 4, 2023(see the tutorial on how to make the video and its requirements and specifications available on the event page).

Recognition for the three best applications: A special certificate will be given to the three best applications or prototypes presented, according to the evaluation of a Qualifying Jury, whose decision will be final. The works that are registered under the thematic axis "Applications" will be taken into account.

Special Application Development Winner Award: A new Laptop Gamer will be delivered to the developer of the best mobile application for vocabulary teaching-learning that can be fed with corpus of the languages ​​that are offered in the Coordination of the Department of Languages ​​of the UMSNH. Those who wish to participate must register with the thematic axis “Application” and modality “language department”. The application that in the opinion of the Coordination is the winner will receive the Laptop (8gb and nvidia card). Insertion of the full-length work as a book chapter: The editorial committee of the Congress will review the lengths of the accepted papers and select those that will be included in the electronic book with ISBN registration. Once they are notified, the authors must send the letter "Declaración_de_Originalidad.pdf" signed by all the authors of the work, in which the authors grant permission to publish said work (downloadable on the sitewww.fie.umich.mx/PLNindigenas/ Yhttps://PLNindigenas.org/ ).
Once the book is compiled, it will be passed to the editorial committee of the Universidad Michoacana for its opinion and, where appropriate, the endorsement for publication.

About copyright: The theme developed by the participants must be the product of their research and not have been presented and published in another congress or in the media.

Where appropriate, credit should be given to other reference sources by referring to them within your bibliography; For example, in the case of using already published references, these must be duly included in the bibliography and, where necessary, have the authorization of those who have the copyright.

Notice of Privacy:By registering a work and sending the abstract or its full length, you authorize native PLN to make use of said information, as well as the data of its authors, for purposes exclusively related to the Congress. In the same way, authorization is granted to transmit the videos or images of the speaker's presentation on the digital platforms chosen to hold the event.
