The recent years have witnessed an explosion of research activities in the areas of life sciences, physical sciences and engineering with application to medical problems. Such activities require inter-disciplinary collaborations among scientists, engineers, medical researchers, and practitioners to solve complex real world problems. This conference is the premier forum where members of the IEEE Circuits & Systems Society present results and innovative solutions for today's health problems at frontiers of Biomedical Engineering. "Smart Hybrid Biosystems" has been chosen as the theme for this years conference. The conference is multidisciplinary in nature comprising an eclectic mix of insightful tutorials, and technical sessions. The organization and planning of the conference enables members of our communities to broaden their knowledge in emerging areas of research at the interface of the life sciences and the circuits and systems engineering discipline. The multidisciplinary approach of this event will enable the CAS community to benefit from a mix of tutorials and technical sessions covering a wide range of topics such as: 1. Bioelectronics / Biomedical instrumentations 2. Bioinformatics 3. Genomics and Proteomics 4. Implantable and wearable electronics 5. Neuromorphic Engineering 6. Biomedical aids to the disabled 7. Low power micro-and nanoelectronics 8. Smart sensors / Body Sensor Network / Biotechnology sensor circuits 9. Mixed-mode system-on-chip 10. Micropower imaging technology / Biosignal processing 11. Wireless technology in medicine / Telecare systems 12. BioMEMS 13. Gene circuits and molecular circuits 14. Lab-on-chip 15. Bio-nanotechnology 16. System biology 17. Organic Semiconductors 18. Electronics for brain science 19. Biomedical Engineering technology 20. Healthcare: Information technology This event will give to researchers in this area a unique opportunity to broaden their insight into the new and developing area of medical technologies and to create inter-disciplinary bonding and come up with innovative solutions that todays healthcare problems and challenges require. The complete 4-page paper (in standard IEEE double-column format), including title, authors' names, affiliations and e-mail addresses, as well as a short abstract are requested. Papers must be submitted electronically in PDF format through www.biocas2010.org. Only electronic submissions will be accepted. A special issue consisting of the best presented papers will be published in the IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Circuits and Systems (TBCAS). Authors' Schedule: Deadline for submission of papers:18th June, 2010 Notification of paper acceptance: 27th August, 2010 Final submission: 17th September, 2010 Additional Deadlines: Deadline for submission of Tutorial Proposals: 18th June, 2010 Deadline for submission of Special Session Proposals: 18th June, 2010 |
