Submitting Papers
Prospective authors are invited to submit high-quality papers reporting original results under the broad theme of building friendly robots, and in all areas of intelligent robot elements, systems, and applications. Prizes for Best Conference Papers and Best Student Papers will be awarded. Plans are also being made for including IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters with a Conference Option in IROS 2017. Details for this initiative will be announced at a later date.
Detailed guidelines are on the author instructions page. In a nutshell, please submit papers via the customary PaperPlaza process. Make sure to follow the format guidelines, available as LaTeX and MS Word templates on Paperplaza. Papers should be six pages in length, and we can accommodate up to two extra pages at a cost of USD 185 per extra page. All papers are reviewed using a single-blind review process: authors declare their names and affiliations in the manuscript for the reviewers to see, but reviewers do not know each other's identities, nor do the authors receive information about who has reviewed their manuscript.

Proposing Workshops and Tutorials
As with previous IROS conferences, the organizers intend to arrange an extensive program of workshops and tutorials to be held prior to the conference. Proposals for half-day or full-day workshops and tutorials are invited. Workshops and tutorials will be held on September 24 and 28, before and after the main contributed sessions. Workshops provide an informal forum for participants in an active research area. Tutorials target more established research areas and provide insights to the state of the art, presented by recognized researchers in the field. Proposals should be submitted via PaperPlaza and should include a title, abstract, names of the organizers, the intended audience, a list of speakers, a tentative schedule, and a plan for soliciting participation, as well as any relevant information about participation in past workshops and tutorials organized by the proposers on related topics. Detailed instructions are provided in the Call for Workshops and Tutorials.

Competitions
Organizers of robot competitions please contact the conference Competitions Co-chairs under competitions@iros2017.org with a proposal.

Exhibits
IROS 2017 offers an excellent opportunity for robot companies to showcase their products and services. Ample exhibition space is available at Vancouver Convention Centre with convenient access to the meeting space for the conference technical program. Information on exhibiting can be found in the Call for Sponsors and Exhibitors.
