Call For Papers

AlterNative: An International Journal of Indigenous Scholarship seeks submissions on indigenous studies for its upcoming issue. This is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary journal dedicated to the experience of first nations peoples, spanning themes of place, history, colonialism, policy, development and self-determination.

Articles from all disciplines will be considered that contribute to the field of indigenous studies. We are particularly interested in articles which negotiate traditional academic disciplines through native eyes.

AlterNative is published twice a year by Nga Pae o te Maramatanga, New Zealand's Maori Centre of Research Excellence.

The deadline for submission is 31st August 2008.

Articles should be between 5,000 to 7,000 words long and accompanied by an abstract of 150 words.

Please follow the APA style of referencing and refer to our website for further guidelines on submission: www.maramatanga.co.nz/alternative.

Enquiries should be directed to alternative@maramatanga.co.nz.
