Conference Objective The Atlantic Web Intelligence Conference (Spain – 2003, Mexico – 2004, Poland – 2005, Israel – 2006, France – 2007) brings together scientists, engineers, computer users, and students to exchange and share their experiences, new ideas, and research results about all aspects (theory, applications and tools) of intelligent methods applied to Web based systems, and to discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted. The conference will cover a broad set of intelligent methods, with particular emphasis on soft computing. Methods such as (but not restricted to): Neural Networks Swarm intelligence Fuzzy Logic Multivalued Logic Rough Sets Ontologies Evolutionary Programming Intelligent CBR Genetic Algorithms Semantic Networks Intelligent Agents Reinforcement Learning Knowledge Management should be related to applications on the Web like: Web Design Information Retrieval Electronic Commerce Conversational Systems Recommender Systems Browsing and Exploration Adaptive Web User Profiling/Clustering E-mail/SMS filtering Negotiation Systems Security, Privacy, and Trust Social networks Social Networks and Social Intelligence Social Networks Mining Link Topology and Site Hierarchy Search in network Web Content Mining Web Log and Usage Mining Web Information Clustering Submission Guidelines We solicit research and experience papers as well as research-in-progress and practitioner reports applying artificial intelligence and soft computing techniques to Web in any of the areas listed above. The AWIC’09 papers will be published by Springer as part of their Advances in Soft Computing series. Papers should be prepared in LATEX and have a length of up to 10 pages following the Springer format: www.springer.com. Papers will be accepted on the basis of their scientific merit and relevance to the conference topics. A double reviewing process will be used.
