Data Mining is a set of techniques aiming to find useful information through a process of analyzing data from multiple perspectives. As an emergent topic, data mining has currently a rapid progress and exponential use in several fields. Many researches have been proposed in this topic. Theory and practical applications are developed to deal with problems linked to information retrieval in different fields.
Recently, the massive growth of information amount is leaded by new research domains such as big data, cloud computing, internet of things etc. In this context, data mining appear as a convenient and important tools to analyze and treat this growth. Indeed, data mining techniques are able to extract pertinent and useful features information whatever it is nature (textual, scalar, multimedia …). Inspired from natural ecosystem, a Digital Ecosystems refers to the distributed, adaptive and open socio-technical system. A Digital Ecosystems has the following characteristics: (1) Self-organization, (2) scalability and (3) sustainability. Data Mining techniques appear as significant tools to deal with these mentioned characteristics. As proved by several recent research works, the results of these techniques are reassuring. In this special issue we seek original or review research papers aiming to explore the application of data mining in the context of digital ecosystems. Submissions are welcome in the following areas, but are not limited to: Data Mining in Pervasive Environnements Data Mining in Networks (VANET, WSNs, MANET, …) Data Mining and Cloud Computing. Data Mining and Internet of Things. Data Mining and System Security. Novel data mining methods Decision Support Data Mining and Information Systems Data Mining in medical field Computer Vision Image Processing Machine Learning Support Vector Machines Neural Networks Classification techniques Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery Textual extraction Data Mining in Big Data Pattern Recognition Etc… Authors should prepare their manuscript according to the Guide for Authors available on the online submission page of the Journal (http://www.journals.elsevier.com/journal-of-innovation-in-digital-cosystems/).
