Special Article Collection
Replication data Organizers: Brian Nosek (Center for Open Science & University of Virginia) Andy DeSoto (Association for Psychological Science) Martin Schweinsberg (INSEAD) Partnered with the Open Science Framework (https://osf.io/) Scientific Data is inviting submissions releasing and describing datasets generated in the process of attempting to replicate one or more previous experimental studies. Submissions may be from a wide range of research disciplines including, but not limited to, the domains of psychology, biology and Earth science. Submitted articles may be considered for inclusion in a special article collection. Submissions should describe in detail a dataset generated while attempting to replicate a previous study. In most cases, the study being replicated should have been previously published in a peer-reviewed journal. Authors may submit manuscripts describing in more detail replication datasets that were used in previous articles, or datasets that have not yet been reported. While the focus of this call for submissions is on replications of an experimental nature, authors with datasets resulting from compelling attempts at replicating a computational analysis are also invited to send presubmission enquiries to the journal: scientificdatareplies@nature.com Acceptance for publication will be based on the technical rigour of the procedures used to generate the data and the completeness of the data description, not the novelty or impact of findings derived from the data. Submitting authors are invited to read our criteria for publication here: www.nature.com/sdata/for-referees#criteria Researchers will be encouraged to deposit their datasets on the Open Science Framework, alongside their Data Descriptor manuscript, except in cases where a community repository exists for their specific data-type. Data must be released to the wider research community upon publication of the Data Descriptor. To be considered for publication among the first papers in this collection, manuscripts should be submitted to the editorial office by 1st July 2016; submissions after this date are welcome, and may still be considered for inclusion in this rolling special collection on a case-by-case basis. Interested in publishing in this special collection? If you have any questions or would like to make an presubmission enquiry, please contact the Managing Editor, Andrew Hufton, with appropriate details: scientificdatareplies@nature.com |
