Call For Papers

We are pleased to invite you to our first international workshop on Real-World Security and Privacy for Collaborative Medical Analytics at the Technical University Darmstadt, Germany. The workshop will be held during the Security & Privacy Week on July 18, 2016 in Darmstadt, Germany.

Focus:
Rapid advances in technology have recently brought the analytics of shared data close to practical, even if the amounts of data are large and the security and privacy requirements stringent. In particular fields with highly sensitive data such as genomics or other health domains, the wide range of privacy-preserving analytics technologies promise to enable new and exciting applications and scientific breakthroughs.

Though for real-world use, there remain still open questions on necessary and sufficient levels of privacy, regulatory and legal compliance, public acceptance and end-user usability of privacy-preserving algorithms to just name a few.

The goals of this multidisciplinary workshop are:
• To take a step back to compare and contrast recent advances in medical analytics.
• To bring stakeholders from Medicine, Law, and Technology together to get a better understanding of the full range of requirements, capabilities, and constraints.
• Discuss the current state of technology and to identify remaining technical and non-technical hurdles for public adaption.
• To identify promising directions for further research and real-world validation approaches.

The workshop will not publish proceedings: The goal is to share and summarize progress and insights so far in a conference report that will be published. Furthermore, speakers will be free to publish their talks and any accompanying material online.

Keynote Speakers:
• Kate Black (23andMe)
• Jim Davies (Genomics England Limited and Oxford University):
Security and Privacy in the UK: The 100,000 Genomes Project
• Roland Eils (German Center for Cancer Research (DKFZ) and University of Heidelberg):
Curse or Cure: Big Data in Health
• Paul Francis (MPI-SWS and Aircloak):
A Breakthrough in Anonymity X Utility for Anonymized Analytics

Registration:
• Regular: 90EUR
• Student: 60EUR
• Darmstadt Security Week passes will be accepted for free admittance
