In fact, the world urbanization is expected to increase by 80 % in 2050. This rapid population growth will lower the quality of life of citizens by increasing the consumption of energy resources, amplifying noise and pollution levels and dramatically disrupting the normal flow of urban transportation, causing traffic congestion and worsening travel times. Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) are systematically involved in the concept of smart environments and aim at providing seamless services to citizens. However, they bring up a number of technical and environmental challenges that need to be tackled. The objective of this workshop is to address all aspects of the modeling, design, implementation, deployment, and management of smart environments algorithms, protocols, architectures, and systems. We aim to uphold the research activities in this area and provide a platform for discussion on basic and potential challenges faced when considering the integration and interoperation of ICTs in heterogeneous urban environments. To this end, we solicit submission of papers describing significant and innovative research contributions that address technical challenges and issues appearing from the integration, interworking and redefinition of new Internet architectures. **TOPICS** Authors are encouraged to send their original and unpublished work related to smart environments and urban networking. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: • Named Data Networking (NDN) applications for smart environments and urban networking • Deep Learning algorithms for 5G smart and urban environments • Machine learning mechanisms for congestion control in 5G urban environments • Network Slicing for smart environments and urban networking • Social Internet of things for 5G smart environments and urban networking • Big data and data mining for smart environments and urban networking • Blockchain based IoT security solutions • Enabling wireless and mobile communication technologies for smart environments and urban networking • Cloud computing infrastructures, cellular networks and M2M technologies in smart environments and smart cities applications • Routing, mobility management, data collection/dissemination, QoS/QoE support in smart environments and smart cities applications and services • Smart environments modeling, simulation, implementation and testbed • Distributed, pervasive and ubiquitous sensing, monitoring and control for smart environments and urban networking • Congestion management and cooperative mobility applications for smart environments and urban networking • Wireless body area networks for smart health, smart home and urban networking • Energy management and green networking • Protocols, algorithms and architectures based on blockchain and machine learning for decentralized environments • Safety, security, data privacy, reputation and trust management in smart environments and urban networking • Human computer interaction and social computing for smart environments applications • E-government services for smart cities and urban networking • Software-defined networks and network function virtualization for smart environments and urban networking • User-oriented visual languages for smart environments and urban networking • Citizen-centric platforms and online public services for smart government applications • Interworking architecture design for smart environment and urban networking • Parking, electric vehicle charging, public transport and on-demand taxi applications for smart transport and urban networking • MIMO and multi-antenna communications for smart environments and urban networking • Optimization and Metaheuristics for smart environments and urban networking **SUBMISSION GUIDELINES** Authors are invited to submit high-quality full papers presenting technical issues and describing original and unpublished work through the EDAS system (https://edas.info/N25027). All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and by the IEEE, and will be accessible via IEEE Xplore Digital Library. Authors are required to submit fully formatted papers (PDF), with graphs, images, and other special areas arranged as intended for the final publication. Papers should be written in English conforming to the IEEE standard conference format (8.5" x 11" - US letter, Two-Column). The final manuscript for publication will be limited to 8 IEEE pages (Six (6) pages are included. Please use either Word or LaTex templates and instructions provided by IEEE (https://www.computer.org/web/cs-cps/).
