In this year, similarly as in previous years, two Polish IEEE (the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Chapters, namely SP (Signal Processing) Chapter and CAS (Circuits and Systems) Chapter organize

the SPA Conference: Signal Processing Algorithms, Architectures, Arrangements, and Applications

at the Poznan University of Technology on September 21–23, 2016. In this year we are having the 20th jubilee conference.

The SPA 2016 topics cover the following areas:
- DSP theory, algorithms, and implementations
- Image and video processing
- Audio processing
- Digital Television and stereovision
- Multimedia data compression, editing, and data bases
- Electroacoustics
- Psychoacoustics
- Sound mastering
- Human-computer interfaces
- Image synthesis, analysis, and recognition
- Filter design and implementation
- Vision and audio-based diagnosis in medicine and industry
- Text-to-speech & speech-to-text algorithms
- Artificial intelligence applications in DSP
- Distributed and networked DSP systems
- Virtual and augmented reality
- Biometrics
- Biomedical applications and assistive technologies
- Mobile platform applications
and other signal processing research fields.

The accepted papers will not only be published in the conference proceedings (in both printed and electronic forms) but they will also be uploaded to the IEEE Xplore digital library (http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/conhome.jsp?punumber=1800373). Some of the previous SPA Conferences (namely those held in years 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2013) are present in the Conference Proceedings Citation Index of the Thomson Reuters Web of Science. Thus we can expect the same with the present SPA conference.

The highest quality papers will be selected by the Scientific Committee and after widening, completion, and updating their contents they will be recommended for publication in such scientific journals as: Multimedia Tools and Applications, Electrical Review, Computational Methods in Science and Technology, Foundations of Computing and Decision Sciences, and Electronics - Constructions, Technologies, Applications. The best presentations prepared by young scientists (up to 35 years old) will be awarded during the closing ceremony of the conference.

The deadline of submission abstract is May 31, 2016 and full papers of maximum 6 pages (A4/letter-size, two-column IEEE style) is June 15, 2016.
