n late March, SuperCollider will be 20 years old. We're hosting a 3-day celebration in NYC with performances, installations, talks, lightning talks, and workshops!
We're currently seeking proposals for all of the above. ::: About the Event ::: At 20 years old, a lot of software is past its prime, but SuperCollider is flourishing. It's used in live performances, on recorded albums, in art installations, in electroacoustic works, in video game design, with new musical instruments, and more. This is a festival for SuperCollider users and the surrounding art and tech worlds. For SC users, it's a time to celebrate and explore everything we've done, and to look to the future. For the surrounding art and tech worlds it's a chance to learn SC, learn from SC, and show SC where it can go next. It's also a chance for us all to listen to some amazing music! We're hosting in NYC, a city with a long history of sparking collaborations, blending inspirations and having fun parties! Performances, talks, and workshops will be held around the city, primarily at New York University. About Talks and Lightning talks: Get us thinking or give us a new skill! Lightning talks are typically around 5-10 minutes and can be creative (e.g. an interesting way to create sounds) or technical (e.g. "setting up the SC server for multiple performers"). |
