The 7th IEEE International Conference on Embedded Software and Systems (ICESS-2010), Bradford, UK, 29 June – 1 July, 2010
Sponsored by IEEE, IEEE Computer Society and IEEE Technical Committee of Scalable Computing (TCSC) *********************************************************************** Distinguished selected papers accepted and presented in ICESS-2010, after further extensions, will be published in special issues of the following prestigious Journals indexed by SCI: - Future Generation Computer Systems - Elsevier - The Computer Journal - The British Computer Society Best Paper Awards will be awarded to two of the top quality papers. *********************************************************************** The Third International Workshop on Computer System Education and Innovation (IWCSEI-2010) will be held in conjunction with IEEE ICESS-2010 conference. http://multicore.zju.edu.cn/iwcsei/iwcsei2010/index.html INTRODUCTION ============ Embedded systems are closely related to our daily life, which reside from smart appliances to unmanned trains. As the fastest growing industry, embedded systems will have great societal and environmental impacts. Therefore, the design and implementation of safe and efficient embedded software and systems have utmost importance. The 7th IEEE International Conferences on Embedded Software and Systems (ICESS-10) will be held in Bradford, United Kingdom. Bradford is a city and metropolitan borough in West Yorkshire, England. Bradford has a population of 497,400, making it the fourth-most populous metropolitan borough and the sixth-most populous local authority district in the UK. The city is often cited as one of the prime examples of 'parallel communities', where the population is effectively segregated along ethnic, cultural and faith lines. The goal of ICESS-10 is to provide a forum for scientists, engineers and researchers to discuss and exchange novel ideas, results, experiences and work-in-process on all aspects of embedded software and systems. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to): A. Systems, Models and Algorithms - Embedded Real-Time Systems - Embedded Hardware and Architectures - Embedded Software/Agent - Power Aware Computing - Distributed Embedded Computing - Pervasive/Ubiquitous Computing - Fault Tolerant & Trusted Embedded Systems - System on Chip (SoC) and Multicore systems - Embedded Real-Time Operating Systems - Mobile Computing - Reconfigurable Computing - Cyber-Physical Systems B. Design Methodology and Tools - Hardware/Software Co-Design - Formal Methods for Embedded Systems - Embedded Component Technology - Middleware for Embedded Systems - Hardware/Software Co-Verification - Compilation and Debug Techniques - IDE and Software Tools - Performance evaluation techniques/tools C. Embedded Applications and Interdisciplinary Topics - Intelligent Embedded Systems - Image and graph processing - Network Protocol and Security - Emergency and Disaster Management - Wireless Sensor Networks - Robotics and Control Systems - QoS Supports for Embedded Systems - Embedded Database & Multimedia Systems - Consumer electronics - Automotive, medical and avionics systems IMPORTANT DATES =============== Submission Deadline: 08 February, 2010 Authors Notification: 26 March, 2010 Final Manuscript Due: 18 April, 2010 Conference dates: 29 June – 1 July, 2010 PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINE ========================== All papers need to be submitted electronically through the conference website (http://cse.stfx.ca/~ICESS2010/sub/) with PDF format. The materials presented in the papers should not be published or under submission elsewhere. Submit a full paper with 8 pages (IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts style: two columns, single-spaced), including figures and references, using 10 fonts, and number each page. You can confirm the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Author Guidelines at the following web page: URL: http://computer.org/cspress/instruct.htm Once accepted, the paper will be included into the IEEE conference proceedings published by IEEE Computer Society Press (indexed by EI). Authors (at least one) of any accepted paper are requested to register at the conference.
