Description
One of earliest applications of AI was in the field of management practice. Business operations, economics and management practice is the widest area of activity, however there are not many applications of Machine Learning in this field. The aim of the session is to invite researchers from related disciplines to explore their ideas on the application of machine learning and related technologies in the broad portfolio of business, operations, economics and management practice. The objectives are to explore recent developments in the field and provide a critique on the strength and limitations of machine leaning and related methodologies and technologies. Topics, but are not limited to E-commerce, M-Commerce Transactions and security issues Supply chain management Decision making Production, scheduling, optimizing Business processes and workflow management Quality management Strategic portfolio management Stock Market Economic trends, forecasting Knowledge management tools Data mining for business applications Taxonomies and ontologies in business applications Community of Practice Submission Papers submitted for this special session should be submitted by June 15, 2008, at the regular paper submission website (http://www.cs.csubak.edu/~icmla/icmla08/). Papers should not exceed a maximum of 6 pages (including abstract, body, tables, figures, and references), and should be submitted as a pdf in 2-column IEEE format. Detailed instructions for the authors can be found at the conference website. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, as a hardcopy. All accepted papers must be presented by one of the authors to be published in the conference proceedings.
