Call For Papers

Dear Colleagues,

We would warmly invite you and your PhD/PostDoc researchers to contribute a chapter for the forthcoming Springer book entitled "Biometric Security and Privacy – Opportunities & Challenges in The Big Data Era". Each contributed chapter is expected to present a novel research study, a comparative study, or a survey of the literature. It is also welcome to expand your previous papers and enrich them for the book chapter.

The book will be published in 2016 by Springer, the largest global scientific, technical, and medical ebook publisher. The volume will be available both in print and in ebook format by late 2016/early 2017 on SpringerLink, one of the leading science portals that includes more than 8 million documents, an ebook collection with more than 160,000 titles, journal archives digitized back to the first issues in the 1840s, and more than 30,000 protocols and 290 reference works.

It is an opportunity to spread the excellence of your research to the Springer community of worldwide researchers. Note that there will be no publication fees for accepted chapters.

Below is a short description of the book:

This book aims to highlight recent research advances in biometrics using new methods such as deep learning, nonlinear graph embedding, fuzzy approaches, and ensemble learning, and address special biometric technologies related to privacy and security issues, such as cancellable biometrics and soft biometrics. The book will also focus on several emerging new biometric topics, such as big data issues, internet of things, biometric banking, medical biometrics, healthcare, and robot-human interactions, etc.. These new applications have triggered a number of new biometric approaches, and this book aims to highlight recent advances in these new applications.

The goal of this volume is to summarize the recent advances in biometric security and privacy. Topics of interest include (but not limited to):

• Big Data Issues in Biometrics
• Privacy and Security
• Cancellable Biometrics
• Biometrics for Internet of Things
• Public Surveillance
• Cybersecurity
• Biometrics in Cognitive Robot
• Biometrics in Healthcare
• Medical Biometrics
• Biometric Banking
• Fuzzy Approaches
• Deep Learning
• Ensemble Learning
• Multimodal Fusion
• Iris,Fingerprints,Palmprints,etc.
• Face, Gait, EEG, Vein, Heart rates, etc.
• Spoofing Detection
• Soft Biometrics
• Social Computing

Each contributed chapter is expected to present a novel research study, a comparative study, or a survey of the literature. Note that there will be no publication fees for accepted chapters.

Important Dates:
Submission of one-page abstracts: Before May 25, 2016
Notification of initial editorial decisions: One week after submission
Submission of full-length chapters: May 30, 2016
Notification of final editorial decisions: July 3, 2016
