This is the First call for papers for the 6th European Conference on Social Media (ECSM 2019) hosted by University of Brighton, UK on 13-14 June 2019.
This call is open until the 22nd November 2018. Below is a link to the Call for Papers and the key topics for this conference will include Social media in: business; education; the present knowledge economy; the rise of the social media star and how social media can affect communities. There will also be a focus on the Networked Citizen and Monitoring and Evaluating Social Media and we are anticipating Security of Social Media to be a popular topic, too. PhD Research, proposals for roundtable discussions, non-academic contributions and product demonstrations based on the main themes are also invited. A prize will be awarded to the best PhD paper and the best Poster. Papers accepted for the conference will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration and payment. The proceedings are indexed by Thompson ISI WOS. Papers that have been presented at the conference will also be considered for further development and publication in: • Online Information Review • International Journal of Social Media and Interactive Learning Environments • International Journal of Web-Based Communities • Journal of Information, Communication and Ethics in Society At ECSM 2019 we will be holding the final round of the 2nd Social Media in Practice Excellence Awards Giving visibility to interesting or leading edge applications of social media is the objective of the Social Media in Practice Excellence Awards Competition. We are keen to see how academe and business have worked together to identify, develop and implement innovative social media applications and to this end we are looking for joint submissions with both academic and practitioner contributors.
