11th International Conference on Deregulated Electricity Market Issues in South-Eastern Europe September 22nd – 23rd, 2016 Heraklion, Crete, Greece DEMSEE was launched as a forum for discussions on electricity market issues as well as the operation aspects of interconnected and isolated power systems in South-Eastern Europe. Over the last 10 years DEMSEE has grown to be one of the most important conferences on a wide range of power system issues held in Central and Eastern Europe. With a broad international attendance from all over the World, DEMSEE provides an excellent networking opportunity to establish new professional relationships and/or start new projects in the region. Market development experts and engineers from all over the world are invited to share their experience on the conference topics and Academicians are invited to merge their theoretical concepts with the practical experience of industry professionals. Specialists from the region are invited to contribute by joining the discussions on specific topics related to deregulated market development and operation. The conference subjects cover the field of electric energy sector, i.e. power systems operation, control, development, planning, analysis, economics, regulation etc. Experiences from various countries and environments, both from industry and academia are highly appreciated. Topics include • Power system operation and control ISO/TSO system control issues, system dynamics, containment of massive amount of intermittent generation, vehicles and grid, black out prevention, protection and control integration, data exchange issues, on-line control - FACTS and HVDC, dynamic security assessment, on-line monitoring - PMU and WAMS. • Energy markets, economics and legislation Market clearing, pricing, tariffs and metering, competition and risk management, generation scheduling, independent power producers, emission allowances and trading, generation capacity, legislation, grid codes and regulation, expansion and long term planning, power system economics. • Renewable energy sources, Distributed Generation, SmartGrids Renewable and distributed power sources, distribution development, Smart Grids for transmission and distribution, demand side participation and response. • Island's Power Systems Energy storage, interconnection issues, hybrid systems, Higher RES Penetration Strategies.
