Call For Papers

SACLA'16 is calling INTERNATIONALLY for original research papers as well as noteworthy experience reports in all matters concerning the lecturing (teaching) of Informatics and Computer Science (ICS) in institutions of Tertiary Education (TE). Relevant contemporary topics might INCLUDE – for example: * Didactics and Methods of Teaching for ICS in TE, * ICS Curricula Development in TE: Scientific-theoretical versus Industrial-practical Orientation, * Didactic Software and Educative Support Tools for ICS in TE, * Program-Code Plagiarism, Ghost-Writing, and Counter-Measurements, * Ethical Problems in the Teaching of ICS at TE level, * Students' Behaviour, Self-Perceptions, Plans and Aspirations within their ICS Learning Environment at TE level, * Problems with Literacy, Numeracy and Logic amongst contemporary Students of ICS, * Transition of Newly Graduated Middle-School Pupils into their ICS Curricula at TE level: Factors of Success or Failure, * Transition of Newly Graduated ICS Students into their After-TE Employment-Environments: Factors of Success or Failure, * Issues of Marking/Grading and/or Assessment Quality Standards, * International Comparability of ICS Degrees and Levels of Knowledge/Skill/Performance amongst ICS Students at TE level, * Effects of the ongoing Massification and Commodification of TE upon the ICS Teaching and Learning Environment, * ICT MOOCs, * Humboldt's Question: Separation or Combination of Teaching and Research in small or large ICT Departments at TE institutions?, * Longitudinal studies in ICT education: Past-versus-Presence Comparisons and plausible Future Trends, * Social Role Problems and/or Career Issues of ICT Academics from Junior Lecturer to Emeritus Professor at TE institutions, * Computing lecturer's general matters: Best/worst practices, success/failure experiences.
Within those themes and topic fields, two types of submissions are possible:
* full-length (approx. 16 LNCS-style pages) research papers or practical experience reports with solid results, or
* short-papers (approx. 6 LNCS-style pages) for interesting and promising "work in progress".
Submissions (via EasyChair) in both categories will be rigorously reviewed by our programme committee for quality in contents and style of presentation. Any rejection decisions are final; there will be no "rebuttal" phase after the review.
ACCEPTED PAPERS MUST BE PRESENTED, otherwise they would not be published in the revised post-proceedings after the conference.
